San Francisco police are investigating several non-fatal and apparently unrelated shootings and stabbings that occurred in the city over the weekend.
The first shooting was reported just before 5 a.m. Saturday near Church and Market streets, where one person was shot in the stomach, police said. The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspect escaped on foot.
At 6 p.m. Saturday, a 15 year-old boy was stabbed in the eye and in his hands while standing at Excelsior Avenue and Lisbon Street in the Mission Terrace District, police reported. At least two suspects approached the boy, yelling then attacking him, police said.
The boy was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.
At 2:24 a.m. this morning, a man was shot in the leg while standing in the 500 block of Barneveld Avenue, near the city's Silver Terrace neighborhood, by an unknown suspect who fired into the crowd, police said.
The victim was also taken to San Francisco General Hospital. Police have no suspects in that shooting.
At 3 a.m. another man was shot in the leg while walking in the area of Loehr Street near Sunnydale Avenue, police reported. He heard a loud noise, felt a pain in his leg and then realized he was shot, police said.
Ten minutes later in the Tenderloin District, a male victim was stabbed in the neck during an argument. That victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and listed in stable condition, police said.

Just another night in “The City of Love”.
When any and all behavior is indulged, well...
eyeballing the stats, SF’s murder rate is about 50% higher/NYC.
I see that all their anti-gun legislation is working out really well for them. Can anyone say Sanctuary City?
NY is probably 7x larger than SF, but it does have very low crime rates. Good for them.
Now looking at city, just south of you, that is much more comparable to SF in size and population, Philadelphia has considerably more crime than SF.
As a matter of fact, Philadelphia in the top four major crime categories has substantially more crime than SF. In murder, rape, robbery and assault, Philadelphia has nearly double the crime of San Francisco.
from wikipedia
Homelessness has been a chronic and controversial problem for San Francisco since the early 1980s. The city is believed to have the highest number of homeless inhabitants per capita of any major city in the U.S.[88][89] The rates of violent and property crime, reported for 2005 as 799 and 4974 incidents per 100,000 residents respectively,[90] are higher than the national average.[91] Among the 50 largest U.S. cities by population, San Francisco ranks 29th and 39th in each of those categories.[90]
In the first quarter of this year, Philly had more murders than the Gaza Strip!
Yeah, I've heard that.
I'm only glad the Founding Fathers of this country can't see it now.
Like Phoenix Arizona for instance. Ya notice the national average here?
Phoenix and San Francisco Comparative Crime Ratios per 100,000 People
I’m curious - where did you get that list?
Hey, it’s a sanctuary city. It’s chock full of Mexican gangs.

I escaped from California in 1979. I’d never live there again.
Wow! Really?? That sure is tempting....
(/sarcasm)
Are people allowed to be on the city streets dressed like that? No wonder families are fleeing the place. Soddom & Gomorrah of the 21st century. God will take care of razing the place Himself.
Gawd, as if people with children don’t get enough of a free ride and head-of-the-line privileges in life. And don’t complain about their kids misbehaving, that makes you an automatic jackass worthy of public scorn and a pay freeze at work. Forget rich people, women with kids are the new royalty.
The town is nothing but superficially hip. The residents are the most standoffish and judgmental that I've ever encountered.
Perhaps two or three of the five. Silver Terrace and Mission Terrace likely. Church and Market, possibly. Tenderloin and Sunnydale are more likely the work of America's more traditional urban perps.
I think today it is the essence of hipness to be standoffish and judgemental.
That sounds like a typical day in Milwaukee.
