Rep. Peter King: Troops Furious at Hillary Over MoveOn Ad
Peoplepc Online? Web Mail ^ | 23 September 2007 | Staff

American troops in Iraq are in a “rage” over Hillary Clinton and other Democrats’ failure to condemn the MoveOn.org ad calling General David Petraeus “General Betray Us.” That’s the word from Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican who recently returned from a fact-finding trip to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. In an interview with talk radio host Steve Malzberg, King said what struck him most about the troops in Iraq was how closely they are following politics in the U.S., and how angry they are over the Democrats’ reaction to the MoveOn.org ad. King said he had lunch with several female soldiers at a base in Iraq and they were “furious at the Democrats for not denouncing the ad and for what was said about General Petraeus. “This has been noticed by the troops,” King told Malzberg. “They specifically mentioned Hillary Clinton, being angry at her, and the Democrats in general for not denouncing MoveOn.org. It went beyond a political anger — it was a rage.” The MoveOn.org ad — which appeared in the New York Times — charged Petraeus with “cooking the books for the White House” when he delivered his Iraq report on Sept. 10. “To imply that Petraeus is a liar — MoveOn called him a traitor!” said King. “I was struck by the intensity of the anger from these people.” King said some of the soldiers who had previously supported Clinton’s presidential bid no longer did. King also criticized New York Sen. Charles Schumer, who said that the level of violence in Iraq’s Anbar province was down “despite the ‘surge,’ not because of it.” He suggested that the American troops couldn’t “get the job done,” so tribal leaders took up the fight against the insurgents themselves. Schumer is “totally wrong,” King declared. He said the tribes took action to fight the insurgents only after they saw the U.S. step up efforts in Anbar.

I hope the demonrats suffer a great humiliation for their treason, and even more for accusing a patriot in uniform of the same.

May they rot in He**.

Not a problem, if the troops will not support Mrs. Clinton, the Dems will just figure a way to not have troops votes count.

“Troops Furious at Hillary Over MoveOn Ad”

Why should she care?

Weren’t the Democrats successful at excluding a major bloc of armed forces votes in the 2000 GoreSham?

I have high regard for the intelligence of our armed forces. That being said I can’t believe they’d be any more or less outraged over what the Democrats have done this time around as compared to all the other nonsense over the past four years. Surely they are fatigued by numerous deployments and discouraged by the lack of support at home. This will be easy fodder for the Democrats to exploit during the coming election.

The UCMJ and tradition prevent our military from speaking on the quality and character of any government employees, or their recommendations on how other Americans vote.

Too bad, because the few leftie traitors in the military (like Murtha and Clark) routinely maneuver around this obstacle in their efforts to remove the CIC.

They also worked hard to disenfranchise Military voters in 2004.

This while working tirelessly to register as many illegal immigrants as possible.

Democrats are sewage.

I don’t matter if the troops are mad. Their vote don’t count anyway. In 2000 & 2004 the dems tried to nullify their vote anyway. Remember FL 2000?

The demonrats have just about caused the extinction of the Carl Vinson , Sam Nunn , Scoop Jackson types of politician and by so doing the last of the few military families with historic democrat ties are evolving .

The troops are mad? I’m not surprised. I just hope their votes are really counted when the time comes.

Schumer and King are both wrong. The violence in Anbar was dropping before the surge. But I am not sure why that matters in any event. Only the fact that it is down should.

AND Hillary lied about her vote on Meet the Press, claiming she had actually voted to condemn the ad. No on called her on her shameless lie.

Same show where she emitted an evil psycho-laugh.

Not only did the Democrats do everything they could to have absentee ballots cast by active-duty military people thrown out in Florida in 2000, but apparently they played games with who would or would not be on the ballot in Ohio in 2004 so that overseas military people wouldn't have time to get the final version of the ballot and get it mailed in by the deadline.

There was a rumor in 2000 that some troops in Florida were suddenly sent on some exercise on election day to prevent them from voting (and they wouldn't have applied for absentee ballots not expecting that to happen). I don't know how many were involved, but given the narrowness of the results even a small number could have made the difference.
