Two people were arrested at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Friday night after causing a "serious disturbance" on their flight from Jacksonville, Fla., according to an airport spokeswoman.

No one was injured, but the disturbance was classified as a terrorist threat, according to RDU Spokeswoman Colleen Fischvogt. Investigators did not say what may have been said or found to have prompted that decision.

This line is interesting.

Authorities did not immediately release the names of the two people who were arrested. They are in the custody of the FBI, officials said.

Yeah, like most stories that run along this theme, the writing is very poor. Sometimes it’s almost as if they don’t want to communicate.

"No one was injured, but the disturbance was classified as a terrorist threat, according to RDU Spokeswoman Colleen Fischvogt."

Rut roh ... the FBI and DHS aren't gonna like that at all. They will be breaking their necks to get to a microphone somewhere to tell us that this was in no way related to terrorism.

Um it just broke a little bit ago. First I heard of it was less than 20 minutes ago when WRAL talked about it. Not that much known currently.

From First Coast News:

“Although an RDU spokeswoman said two people were arrested as the FBI investigated a “perceived terrorist threat” on board American Eagle Flight 4158 from Jacksonville, FL, to RDU, an FBI spokesman said he couldn’t confirm those details.

“Apparently, about 30 minutes prior to landing, there was a report of a passenger acting suspiciously,” FBI spokesman Newsom Summerlin in Charlotte said.

Local and federal law enforcement officials responded when the plane landed about 8:40 p.m. at a remote area of the airport, he said. Airport spokeswoman Colleen Fischvogt, who said two people were arrested, said the passengers were bused to their terminal.

She did not have names or charges.

Summerlin would not comment on whether anyone was arrested, adding that there’s a difference between investigative detention and being arrested.

American Airlines spokesman Tim Wagner said a flight attendant had “a security concern with a passenger,” prompting law enforcement officials to meet the plane.

The flight departed Jacksonville at 7:10 p.m., the Transportation Security Administration said.”

Well, if you had used some keywords it could have helped the search. If you don’t use any, nobody is going to be able to find the thread.

The keyword *terrorplane* has since appeared on the other thread. I would never think of searching on that.

Perhaps *terror* *terrorist* *WOT* to name a few more common ones.

As I’ve posted threads, I’ve discovered using the city or state where the event occurred, or people’s names, helps a lot.

Besides, there’s only a 6 1/2 minute difference between the threads. That means that with the time it takes to post articles, that thread may not even have been up when you searched.

No kidding! It's so strange to hear a spokesperson say that something was actually considered a terrorist threat.

Agreed. I’ve noticed that TV station reporters, in particular, really suck when they have to write news copy for publication. Of course that also means their editor, assuming they have an editor, sucks as well.

If this writing ability is what journalism schools have to offer today, it makes me wonder why they even bother.
