OCCASparky, andy58-in-nh, and I, Little Bill, gathered across the street fron the Monument in Rochester and await for the local commies to start their 5:30 to 6:30 vigil. Before crossing we posted a sign that said there would be communists near by, on the fence around the Statue, a Public Service Notice, sponcered by NH FReepers.

What if you had a revolution and no one showed up? We waited and we waited and we waited some more, finally the Ur-Hippy wandered in like a lost puppy looking for his litter mates.

He saw our warning notice and tore it down and wandered off looking for his playmates. Awhile later he came down our side of the street. I asked him What if you had a revolution and no one showed up? No answer, he claimed not to be a commie and claimed to be more right wing than us. (GAG)

Every Friday, the Farmington peace action types do a vigil at the monument from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. They have been doing it for awhile. When we can we go down and counter them All right headed Patriots and FReepers are invited.

I generally post a notice on the NH Locale, it is FRee and all we ask is if you have a creative sign or flag bring it, we are equal opportunity protesters the only requirement is you must support the Troops, and as a FReeper conservitism is a given.

One of the things that I find strange about NH is the unwillingness to forget about Fred, Hunter, Mitt, McLame and confront some issues on a local basis.

The political awareness is there but the willingness to confront the Che-Porters, the Hodes, and our socialist reps in the General Court is not. This tight jawed Yankee image, and I am a Yankee, agivates me, I want to see some yelling and protesting.

I guess I “protest” with my checkbook and time. I worked in the Reagan primary campaign in 1976 when I was in junior high. I just (probably illogically) associate protesters with the long haired flag burners I saw growing up. When the time comes though, I’ll be standing somewhere with a Hunter sign in front of a polling place.
