Posted on 09/21/2007 10:55:50 AM PDT by Winged Hussar

To express the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.

Important point: this was not a vote for or against the war in Iraq. It was a vote to stand with a distinguished Army officer against the equivalent of feces-throwing monkeys (Eli Pariser and his cohorts at MoveOn.org) who were making the worst imaginable accusations against an officer and gentleman: lying and betrayal. A man or woman of character cannot possibly condone what MoveOn.org did, as the 26 Democrats (25 nay votes plus Obama's deliberate abstention) shown below have done.

Complete list

YEAs ---72 voted to "strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces."

Allard (R-CO)
Barrasso (R-WY)
Baucus (D-MT)
Bayh (D-IN)

Bond (R-MO)
Brownback (R-KS)
Bunning (R-KY)
Burr (R-NC)
Cardin (D-MD)
Carper (D-DE)
Casey (D-PA) This comes as a pleasant surprise because Casey accepted MoveOn's support in the 2006 election. It seems that he finally chose to do the right thing.
Chambliss (R-GA)
Coburn (R-OK)
Cochran (R-MS)
Coleman (R-MN)
Collins (R-ME)
Conrad (D-ND)
Corker (R-TN)

DeMint (R-SC)
Dole (R-NC)
Domenici (R-NM)
Dorgan (D-ND)
Ensign (R-NV)
Enzi (R-WY)
Feinstein (D-CA) Note that MoveOn's smear of General Petraeus was too repugnant even for Dianne Feinstein to support.
Graham (R-SC)
Grassley (R-IA)
Gregg (R-NH)
Hagel (R-NE)
Hatch (R-UT)
Hutchison (R-TX)
Inhofe (R-OK)
Isakson (R-GA)
Johnson (D-SD)
Klobuchar (D-MN)
Kohl (D-WI)
Kyl (R-AZ)

Martinez (R-FL)
McCain (R-AZ)
McCaskill (D-MO)
McConnell (R-KY)
Mikulski (D-MD)
Murkowski (R-AK)
Nelson (D-FL) I recall that he also was a MoveOn-backed candidate in 2006. This may cost him MoveOn's support in 2012, but I doubt MoveOn will be on the political stage for much longer.
Nelson (D-NE)
Pryor (D-AR)
Roberts (R-KS)
Salazar (D-CO)
Sessions (R-AL)
Shelby (R-AL)
Smith (R-OR)
Snowe (R-ME)
Specter (R-PA)
Stevens (R-AK)
Sununu (R-NH)
Tester (D-MT)
Thune (R-SD)
Vitter (R-LA)
Voinovich (R-OH)
Warner (R-VA)
Webb (D-VA)

NAYs ---25 Voted to support MoveOn.org's personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.
Akaka (D-HI)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Byrd (D-WV) The Ku Klux Klansman who once vowed that he would never fight in the Armed Forces "with a Negro by my side," who called Black people "throwbacks to the blackest specimens of the wilds," and "race mongrels," and who corresponded with the infamous segregationist Theodore Bilbo.
Clinton (D-NY) The Clintons' contempt for our men and women in uniform is well known. Clinton also posed arm in arm with the prominent racist and anti-Semite Al Sharpton.
Dodd (D-CT)
Durbin (D-IL) "Turban Durbin"
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Inouye (D-HI)
Kennedy (D-MA) This is what we expect from the fat drunk from Massachusetts. And Mary Jo Kopechne is still dead.
Kerry (D-MA) He was against the MoveOn.org ad before he was for it (as shown by this vote)
Lautenberg (D-NJ) Typical for a New Jersey Democrat (see Menendez below)
Levin (D-MI)
Menendez (D-NJ) Typical New Jersey Democrat
Murray (D-WA)
Reed (D-RI)
Reid (D-NV)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Sanders (I-VT)
Schumer (D-NY) Alfonse D'Amato was right about him.
Stabenow (D-MI)
Whitehouse (D-RI)
Wyden (D-OR

Not Voting - 3
Biden (D-DE)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Obama (D-IL) Obama's abstention was deliberate. He said in effect that he was not going to dignify the vote to stand behind General Petraeus by voting on it. Obama also posed arm in arm with, and endorsed, the prominent racist and anti-Semite Al Sharpton.

Lest anyone forget, MoveOn.org has a long track record of welcoming anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic, and even racist hate speech at its now-disgraced Action Forum, and it published the following derogatory photomanipulation of Pope Benedict. This is a good time to remind voters of MoveOn's hate speech against Jews, Catholics, evangelical Christians, and others.

It is a matter of record that MoveOn's Action Forum was under MoveOn's editorial control, and the hate speech was posted (and affirmed by other members) with the full knowledge and approval of the moderators. Eli Pariser (aka Eli Parasite) lied about MoveOn not knowing about it, and he also lied about removing more than a couple of token items like "Jew Lieberman."

Please COPY (not link, it uses my bandwidth) these if you want to circulate them or post them on your blogs. Remember, if this material stays at Free Republic, we may enjoy it but it won't hurt MoveOn.org or its candidates.

MoveOn.org has no honor. They’re a bunch of far left, anti-American shills.

Shills?

More like commie pigs.

Those barking moonbats don’t understand, when the hajis get to town, moveon fools are first on the list for cranium detachment surgery.

Move on and the NY Times are in violation of campaign finance reform rules. Move on with its treasonous libel against a war hero is guilty of nothing less then sedition. Have they in fact called for uprising in the U.S. are they supporting Coup attempts in this country... Its one thing to have a voice of political opposition it is quite another to manipulate and coerce public officials into doing your bidding by threatening personal attacks etc.

Minnesota will not forgive Klobuchar for supporting Petreus. They are moonbats up there of the worst sort.

MoveOn is disgusting. Thank goodness 75 Senators had the brains to see it. The other 25 need to get to a psychiatrist...
