Krauthammer: Middle East Volcano
Real Clear Politics ^ | September 21, 2007 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 09/21/2007 3:16:35 AM PDT by Puzzleman

On Sept. 6, something important happened in northern Syria. Problem is, no one knows exactly what. Except for those few who were involved, and they're not saying.

We do know that Israel carried out an airstrike. How do we know it was important? Because in Israel, where leaking is an art form, even the best-informed don't have a clue. They tell me they have never seen a better-kept secret...

Israel is beginning to regret all its years of concession and peace attempts with these lying islamic nut jobs surrounding her.

I just hope it is not too late.

But there are others in the Iranian elite who might stop him and the nuclear program before the volcano explodes.

Show me evidence of this. Give me one example of their influence.

I hope Dr. Charles’ health holds out. I’d like to read his opinion for another twenty years. He is a treasure of intellect and good old fashioned common sense.

Agree....it's Iraq redux.

We didn't differentiate between the SS troops and German civilians when we bombed Dresden. We didn't separate the Japanese civilian from their military establishment in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I was born too late to be around for the Japanese' unconditional surrender...but hopefully I'll witness one from Iran.

To say the least. Poster DRZZ broke this story first and I brushed him off for exactly that reason, there had been no leaks and there were ALWAYS leaks. His initial report was there had been MULTIPLE targets hit. Under the circumstances by now can there be any doubt by this time they were WMD sites.

Our armies should not have stopped at the Syrian border. We should have marched all the way to the Mediterranean in 2003 (if not in 1991).

He called hildecare (Fox AllStars) a “workable and sensible” program... a bit too intrusive... but a “good plan”! Charles is having some mental problems lately... and it worries me!

If it hasn’t happened I honestly hope a deal goes through that Israel receives F-22 Raptors, at least they can and WILL use them.

I wonder if Syria is glowing at night from where the IDF blew them away? President Bush would not comment on this yesterday, and it will be interesting to see where this one goes.

We face hard decisions, and frightening possibilities. And it is a foregone conclusion that the Democrats will base their policy stands on: "How can we achieve the worst outcome for Bush?"

Politicially, the US has had a contentious history. But it's never been this bad before -- and it comes at an awful time.

Don’t question their partiotism!! It will be real interesting to see how American Jews vote in 2008. If they continue to support the Dems, then I think it in our interest to let the muzzies have Israel. Why should we do the heavy lifting for Israel when American Jews won’t?

The people of Israel should not be made to suffer because American Jews use their votes poorly.

To fail to support Israel would be shameful.
