NEW YORK -- Officials on Wednesday decided to reject the Iranian president's request to visit ground zero just weeks after the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The decision came in a meeting that included representatives of the NYPD, the Secret Service and the Port Authority, according to police.
NYPD officials confirmed in a statement that earlier this month the department received a request from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to visit the World Trade Center site during the United Nations General Assembly.
A statement issued by the NYPD said, "Requests for the Iranian president to visit the immediate area would also be opposed by the NYPD on security grounds."
I was hoping they’d agree, and as he approached, righteous New Yorkers would get past the NYPD and beat the little **** to death.
Some sanity indeed.

Thank goodness. NY (where I grew up and lived for much of my life) drives me crazy with its liberal stupidity, but every so often, there’s a burst of common sense.

Ahmadinejad participated in the Hostage Crisis during the Carter Admin. Jimmy would probably meet him at ground zero and give him a big sloppy kiss.
It’s great propaganda for him no matter the result. If he visits and is heckled, then it’s US hatred for Iran. If denied visit, then it’s US hatred for Iran. If he visits with a private guided tour -we’re sheep for the slaughter!!!
Look for the ACLU to fight this.
The little piece of poop would surely have made some horrible speech against the West, Christians, Jews while standing where his people killed so many of our innocents.
