WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush and the U.S. Congress registered record-low approval ratings in a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday, and a new monthly index measuring the mood of Americans dipped slightly on deepening worries about the economy.

Only 29 percent of Americans gave Bush a positive grade for his job performance, below his worst Zogby poll mark of 30 percent in March.

A paltry 11 percent rated Congress positively, beating the previous low of 14 percent in July.

Nav_mom responds: Which is exactly what lead to the 2006 blood bath against the GOP. I believe with all my heart that if the Dems get in the white house they will NEVER again let go. They will give illegals the vote, they will create more entitlement funding to insure and pay for the stupid/lazy vote, and they will continue with well known corrupt and dishonest election practices. All the while they will have the cover and aid from the criminal media. And last but not least they will place leftest judges across the country to insure their agenda is sanctioned. I don’t think traditional America could sustain another Clinton whitehouse.

Dead on. That is what is so frightening about the next elections. Once lost, we may never regain any power whatsoever. Lack of conservatism has squandered a golden opportunity. Yet we still have those that would sit out the elections or even vote for Ron Paul. I fear for our country more than ever.

I have found that staffers usually mirror how the Member of Congress thinks.
Maybe this is why they have such a low approval rating. I pulled it off capitolist.com

“Several years ago, before working for a MOC, I had less faith in Congress (the federal government in general) and more faith in fellow constituents...not anymore. Now I feel that the vast majority of constituents are unintelligent and/or uninformed. Just spend one day answering phones and you might agree...”
