What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other would smell as sweet.
Personally, I call him “Lord”. It doesn’t matter to me what they called Him. He’s still the “Son of God” and my “Savior”, and He knows my name that’s all that matters.

I find digging into the original languages fascinating. I am studying Hebrew with a Jewish friend and I’ve been on and off studying Greek for a while.

True, but it adds an interesting connotation.
From one of the links I posted. The name “Jesus� obscures a very important biblical connection. Yeshua [Yehoshua] the Messiah and Joshua [Yehoshua] the son of Nun, Moses’ servant who led the children of Israel into the Promised Land, had the same Hebrew name.

The name Jeshua i.e. ישוע appear in the Scriptures 29 times
according to a simple query: these include 1 Chr 24:11, 2 Chr 31:15,
Ezr chapters 2 & 3, and in Neh chapters 9 - 12.
During Bible class tomorrow I'm going to check those out.

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, Jesus is a mistranslation of Joshua (Yeshua) by second century translators.
Don't you think the transition from Hebrew to Greek may have had something to do with it?
