(Bill) Maher on CNN: Petraeus and Maliki ‘Stooges’ For President Bush (Parrots MoveOn.org)

Bill Maher gave an unsatirizable interview on Tuesday evening’s "The Situation Room" on CNN, spending a large portion of his ten-minute interview attacking, among others, General David Petraeus, Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker, and Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki, labeling them "stooges" for President Bush....

Video (1:17): Real (2.12 MB) or Windows (1.8 MB), plus MP3 (601 KB)

...Blitzer first asked the HBO host about the congressional Democrats’ lack of action on the Iraq war. "Is there more that they [the Democrats] could be doing? Should be doing?"

Maher’s answer:

Yeah, I guess there is. But, you know, what can you do with a situation where there's one man who stubbornly has the power and will not relinquish it? And he's such a liar, you know? I think that -- if he would just be straight with the American people, instead of saying things like, 'The people who are attacking us in Iraq are the same people who attacked us on 9/11.' What a blatant lie....

Blitzer then asked about General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker.

BLITZER: You listen closely to General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker.... They made the case effectively for President Bush that the U.S. should continue this strategy.

MAHER: Wait a second. He put the words in their mouth. That wasn't the Petraeus Report.... It was a White House-written report. We know that. Bush has an interesting little scam going. He also quoted in his speech on Thursday night, Maliki. And he said basically that the Iraqi leadership is asking us to stay. So, in other words, he puts words into his stooges' mouths, and then, he quotes them.

Maher? Consider the source, he’s a comedian, an entertainer like Streisand, same mold. Does he possess a political science degree in international relations? I think not.

Losers like Maher and Olberman are reasons why every Freeper should make sure to send off a few emails a day to members of Congress. Telling them to stand firm behind our warriors down range and behind our CinC.

Do not allow these losers, these uninformed fools, the satisfaction of thinking they help caused our defeat or early withdrawal (before victory!).

Email or make a few phone calls each and every day. Keep the intensity that our warriors are giving 24/7 while down range.

Drinking Coffee  Why is Mahr's opinion considered news?  I thought Blitzer's segment was supposed to be a hard news show, not an over the top opinion show like Chris Matthews or Hannity & Colmes.

It was a White House-written report. We know that.  No, we don't know that Bill.  Saying we know that sounds remarkably like the "settled science" fanatics of the Al Gore/Global Warming venue.

‘....everyone needs to stop watching him.’

exactly. stop watching him and any other “celebrity” or media hack that bashes our country or our military.
They always say the same thing so no need to listen or watch their pathetic shows/movies or buy their music.

And, just who is Maher a stooge for??? MoveOn...Code Pink...Howard Dean...John, hairdo, Edwards....they’re all the same...not worth spending time on.

“I completely agree. He is nothing but an agitator. BTW - How does an English Major from Cornell and crappy comedian get to be a political talking head?”

This I have said so many times... Why is it that the drive by MSM go to a faux comedian to get an opinion on the WOT or our military? Does the MSM go to a garbage hauler to get an opinion on a faux comedian? Another thing along this line; when there is something along black/white relations, why does the MSM always go to the duo of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?
I think it can be summed up as Chicken Nitrate News.

newbusters is a complete waste of time.

The MSM are dedicated to the marketing of liberalism. As such, they do not care to endorse liberalism’s competitor in any way.

There is no bias in the MSM because they are a marketing network with no interest in objectivity.

...but newsbusters keeps wasting everyones time by appearing to be a voice for frustrated conservatives who still believe objectivity in the press is their birthright.

They are a marketing network.

Just accept that fact and mention it to as many conservatives as possible. That way we can all stop this nonsense and get on with confronting Main Stream and Media Inc. directly for the frauds they are by calling them what they are to their face.

Yeah? They still claim to be "journalist," and journalism carries a certain connotation.

The only time NewsBusters wastes is what YOU let them waste. Don't like them? Then don't visit their website.

Hey, Hissy Matthews was too busy today having Joe the Clinton Hatchet Man Condescending Conason on and also to round out the balanced interview, the head commie from the Code Pinko organization.

Gee, can these people be any more transparent?

I actually watched this and at one point Wolf Blitzer sort of gave up and surrendered to all his “opinions as facts” because it was piling up faster than a pile of cow dung.

He just shoots off his opinions and used to be smug relaying the Democrat talking points. Now he’s just filibustering with stuff he makes up out of whole cloth.

There’s no way anyone can possibly keep up with the litany of misinformation with this guy.

It’s like listening to the Pravda radio guy when he used to appear on American stations. The propaganda was so heavy and severe you couldn’t cut through it by merely citing one factual error.

The whole thing was a pile of garbage, much like Maher’s brain which is as squishy as the drugs he smokes on a regular basis. That of course, not when he exploits the black woman for his selfish pleasures.

“I would like to see him spend one week in Iraq with General Petraus”

I’d prefer to see him in Iraq for one week without Genl Petraeus or any American troops to protect his sorry pansy a$$.
