[history]
Proof of cooperation between Iran and Syria in the proliferation and development of weapons of mass destruction was brought to light Monday in a Jane's Magazine report that dozens of Iranian engineers and 15 Syrian officers were killed in a July 23 accident in Syria.
According to the report, cited by Channel 10, the joint Syrian-Iranian team was attempting to mount a chemical warhead on a scud missile when the explosion occurred, spreading lethal chemical agents, including sarin nerve gas.
Reports of the accident were circulated at the time, however, no details were released by the Syrian government, and there were no hints of an Iranian connection.
The report comes on the heels of criticism leveled by the Syrains at the United States, accusing it of spreading "false" claims of Syrian nuclear activity and cooperation with North Korea to excuse an alleged Israeli air incursion over the country this month.
According to Global Security.org, Syria is not a signatory of either the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), - an international agreement banning the production, stockpiling or use of chemical weapons, or the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT).
Syria began developing chemical weapons in 1973, just before the Yom Kipper War. Global Security.org cites the country as having one of the most advanced chemical weapons programs in the Middle East.

GWB has about 15 months in office. It is anyones guess as how things will develop. As we understand, Israel must live in close proximity to these morons on a daily basis. With the new found acceptance for a GWOT, surely more nations will cooperate with the US initiatives. Syria and Iran just keep getting deeper in the doo doo. Nations that sponsor terrorism are not taken lightly anymore due to 9/11 and the many follow up attacks on population centers in Europe in Australian sphere of influence, and recent attacks in India.
What responsible nation would take lightly the prospect of having one of their cities go up in a mushroom cloud as a warning against them to stop siding with America. As more of the world's population start to realize it is not just America that is under the gun regarding nuclear/biochemical attacks, the perpetrators of these acts by proxy, e.g. Iran and Syria will be further isolated. At least I hope this will prove to be the case.
And if so, GWB will have a more free hand in doing what should be done with these two malcontents.

It will be interesting to see how the left blames this on Bush.
Thats easy Bush responded to slowly and let the WMD leave Iraq when he knew exactly where they were before the invasion.
You wait and see.

Syria just couldnt help themselves...they just had to play with all those toys Sadaam shipped them just prior to the invasion.Maybe a Mossad agent replaced the instructions on the cap on the containers which used to read in arabic "Turn left to open & disarm, turn right to arm & detonate in 4 seconds"

This plus the probable 30 or so techs vaporized by the IDF a couple weeks ago is gonna put some real hurt on NBC recruiting efforts.

It will be interesting to see how the left blames this on Bush. This one will be a challenge for them, but Im sure they will rise to the occasion. To them it never happened. Anyone who thinks 9/11 was an inside job is immune to mere facts.

So President Bush invaded the only country in the region that did not have WMDs?
Oh....that is an excellent bumper sticker!
____________________________________________________________
I’d also like to see a bumper sticker along the lines of:
You mean Clinton lied in 1998 when he said he bombed Iraq because they had WMD?
To: mojito
So if Iran and Syria can cooperate on WMDs and we have proof in the form of this nasty accident, it is even more likely Syria and Iraq were cooperating in WMDs. Syria and Iraq were both Baathist and shared a border. Syria is where a bunch of Iraqi WMDs went. All that truck traffic to Syria from Iraq before the war wasn't Uday's porn collection.

Knowing that Iran and Syria are in bed together should be all the excuse Israel needs to launch a few preemptive strikes of their own. Why should Israel wait until they are able to fire missiles that could wipe them out. I think the US should help them, because you KNOW they will do the same thing to us as soon as they can smuggle some across the border.
What am I saying. There is no need to smuggle them. They can just walk the over the border, and as soon as we are forced to allow Mexican trucks come into the US, they'll be able to drive them over the border.

Wow. That is a scary bit of info.
I’m sure unauthorized visits by Pelosi and Kucinich amounted to tacit approval to continue their nefarious planning. These axis of Evil components must think that we will truly not do anything about them...and why should they think any different? This is getting more serious every minute..and yet we have to fight the Left before we can fight the war.

Ping for Saddams legacy.
Syria has had it's own extensive and large-scale WMD programs for longer than Iraq did; I'm a bit baffled as to why people think any of this necessarily has anything remotely to do with Iraq.
To: Our man in washington
It will be interesting to see how the left blames this on BushIf Bush wouldn't have invaded Iraq, Saddam wouldn't have moved all his WMD's to Syria! - It is clearly Bush's fault.
