Sure, it was just an acceptance speech at some silly awards ceremony. However, when Hollywoodans say ridiculous things on television that media applaud along with the Hollywoodans in attendance, someone's got to point out the inanity.
As such, when Sally Field said at Sunday's Emmy awards ceremony as reported by the MRC's Tim Graham, "And, let's face it, if the mothers ruled the war, there would be no (expletive) wars in the first place," I can't sit idly by without contesting such nonsense.
After all, it appears Field has never heard of some famous female leaders who brought their nation's to war:

She needs to cut her hair....she’s old:-)
Anyone who hasnt seen the video its hilarious, she got tongue tied and sounded like a complete fool.
Even the left leaning crowd laughed at her:

Their entire career is pretending to be someone else. They will take credit for everything because they become that someone else. (of course don't ever ask them to contribute any real world value, they don't understand the concept)
what she is really saying is that if adventure and exploration was left up to mothers, we would still be cowering in caves because the outside of the cave is just waaaaaay too dangerous.
Mental stupidity must be a side effect of those boniva pill she peddles.
YOU LOVE ME!! YOU REALLY, REALLY LOVE ME!!!!
AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH !!!!!!
Perhaps the manufacturers of Boniva need to list mental incapacity and diarrhea of the mouth as a possible side-effects of their drug.
Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi, Maggie Thatcher. All moms. nuff said. Oh and pretty good warlords if you ask me. Or is that Warladies??
I wear long hair for religious choice and get told that by women with butch haircuts all the time until it gets old as if “they” are the only authority on what looks “right”. Actually, Sally looked cute (it was probably that sheep placenta stuff) last night and there’s no hard and fast rule about older women and hair length. In fact, older women with short or long hair are just that either way - old. :O) (Sixty-One and I Know OLD!)
New movie with Cate Blanchett reprising her role as Elizabeth I is coming out on October 12th. Jeffrey Rush plays Francis Walsingham again and Clive Owen is Sir Walter Raleigh. The movie is titled: Elizabeth: The Golden Age. It looks very good.
Cool! I love Geoffrey Rush.
Who plays Will Shakespeare? Joseph Fiennes?
I think her cornette was on too tight.
Does she even have any children?
There will never be peace in the Middle East until mothers love their children more than they hate Isrealis.
Does anyone even watch the Emmys?
I don’t watch those programs, so I for sure don’t watch the awards!
Gwynth Paltrow...just kidding.
Memo to Sally:
Stick to peddling Boniva!
Exactly. In fact, I used my manly perogative (doesn't happen very often) and took over the remote from Mrs WBill so that I didn't need to put up with that self-congratulatory crap.
Both my Pats AND my Yankees won. It was a good night.
For liberals, history begins when they wake up each morning.
