The Stupidity of Sally Field’s No Wars If Moms Ruled the World Claim
NewsBusters ^ | 9/17/07 | Noel Sheppard

Sure, it was just an acceptance speech at some silly awards ceremony. However, when Hollywoodans say ridiculous things on television that media applaud along with the Hollywoodans in attendance, someone's got to point out the inanity.

As such, when Sally Field said at Sunday's Emmy awards ceremony as reported by the MRC's Tim Graham, "And, let's face it, if the mothers ruled the war, there would be no (expletive) wars in the first place," I can't sit idly by without contesting such nonsense.

After all, it appears Field has never heard of some famous female leaders who brought their nation's to war:

"And, let's face it, if the mothers ruled the war, there would be no goddamn wars in the first place,"...

Pretty mild compared to most moonbat rants. Yawn!

The author might have included Boudica, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great and Elizabeth Báthory on the list. The latter wasn’t exactly a war leader but wasn’t a pacifist either.

Wasn’t she the actress in “Not without my daughter”.

What will be her view on war with Iran?

I beg to differ with Sally. Hell hath no fury like that of a woman scorned.

Hell hath no fury like a woman whose time of the month has come! Countries would be ravaged, men shot just because, young women imprisoned because they’re under 25 and the list goes on.

I happened to tune in during the religious enshrinement/ deificaton of “The Sopranos.” It was as macabre as the human sacrifice scenes from “Apocalypto”.

The Queen of England, Spain and the Netherlands caused a little thing that was referred to as the real First World War.

So it looks like Hillary has no intention of defending America militarily, then.

Not that I watched her show before, but now, I certainly won’t, ever.

She has a show? :-)

It’s hard to believe that she is that stupid. Then I read about Barry Manilow boycotting the VIEW because of a conservative on the show? THEY are ALL NUTs.

“they get an audience to hear their political wisdom...”

nah — it’s just a rant by yet another star I’m not going to watch anymore.

What a flake-o. The sad part is these people actually believe they sound profound. Even when they make their little movies, they are only reciting words that writers write down for them. They can’t possibly take credit for that “wisdom” can they?

Just shutup & act Sally.

That's like demanding that your four year old daughter give you grandchildren. No matter how compliant she might be, she's simply not capable of fulfilling your demands.

“She attended Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California. (High school drop out?)”

Okay — now you’ve done it. For sure I’m not giving her a nickel of my hard earned money.

At the very least, she ought to get herself back to school. She could use some book-learnin’ (if you ask me, which you didn’t)

I think she was just having a hot flash - or she forgot to take her monthly Boniva and her bones were aching.

“Does anyone even watch the Emmy’s?”

Don’t know what the viewership total was but it was down 20% from last year. Pretty soon it’ll be down there in Couricstan.

Please tell me they wouldn’t show the Emmy Awards if the viewers trailed off to nowhere.

It was a silly statement that has no basis in fact.

Women are called the civilizing influence on men. In other words, we’d all be happily hunting, gathering, and sowing our wild oats, were it not for our wives. Civilization would never have started in a world of single men. And this is probably true. Stable relationships with our spouses, and thus our offspring, caused men to adopt more predictable means of gather food; we began to farm rather than hunt. But this change in human behavior made us more violent, not less.

When your next meal comes from a particular bit of real estate, you learn to defend it. A hunter can get food anywhere, but a farmer can only get food from the field he planted. If others drive him off that land, he and his family will starve. To avoid this, he learns to defend that ground. To grow his family, he further learns to take land from others. Thus agriculturalists are more aggressive than “uncivilized” hunter/gatherers.

The moms of the world are what caused men to become warlike.

Here's two women: Queen Isabella of Spain kicked the Moors out of Spain. She even rode into battle herself, including once when she was pregnant.
