This is interesting in light of the coming internal Russian conflict concerning how Stalin and the Communists are to be remembered. The Russian Orthodox Church is making stronger statements regarding the millions of people victimized by Stalin and their participation in this commemoration seems to be another welcome step in that direction.

Putin may find himself having to make a very public decision in regards to this.

The independent Russian newspaper Vremya Novostei commented caustically on Monday that "this isn't about an improvement in bilateral relations because Mr President is visiting Russia in order to recall the most painful page in history."

Maybe that's because only now does Poland even have the chance to recall it, since for years the Russkies lied and blamed it on the Germans.

Easy deal,
If you had to rely on one or the other as a friend and ally, which would anyone choose, Russia or Poland?
Obviously Poland. They don’t seem to want to crap on, conquer, steel the natural resources, dictate to and murder their neighbors.

Or maybe (as the ballistic expertise showed) Poles were killed with GERMAN bullets fired from GERMAN handguns.

The only thing we now for sure is that Russians did it... they still haven’t handed any interesting documents to the Polish side... We only got this:

http://pl.wikisource.org/wiki/Decyzja_katy%C5%84ska

order to kill, signed by Stalin and other murderers

and it proves that prosecution was performed by germans inless NKVD predicted back in 1940 that Katyn territory is going to be seized by Nazis in 1941-1942. Otherwise there was no reason to use german weapons for killings. Do you believe that NKVD could see future? I don’t. Ergo, poles were killed by germans

I will be happy to hear your counter-arguments. Hopefully, counter-arguments with less emotions.
