Amnesty Again :Back to the Senate ... (amnesty is very much alive)
National Review ^ | September 17, 2007 | Kate O'Beirne

Posted on 09/17/2007 6:35:46 AM PDT by IrishMike

Determined amnesty advocates who lost the fight for “comprehensive” immigration reform three months ago are now attempting to grant illegal aliens “amnesty on the installment plan.” Illegal aliens who entered the U.S. before age 16 and who have lived here illegally for five consecutive years will be the first to qualify under a bill the Senate is expected to vote on this week. Senator Dick Durbin (D., Ill.) will offer his Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act as an amendment to the defense-authorization bill. Later in the month, senators will attempt to extend amnesty to agricultural workers.

Under the DREAM Act, applicants for amnesty who claim to be enrolled in a community college, technical school, or university will receive immediate “conditional” legal status. Sound familiar? The Migration Policy Institute estimates that about 1.3 million illegal aliens will be eligible for the amnesty. Because the act’s provisions are retroactive, additional illegal aliens will also qualify. Along with illegal aliens who have graduated from high school or completed a G.E.D., any illegal alien, regardless of age, who initially came here illegally before age 16 and meets the education provisions qualifies for a green card and eventual citizenship. As green-card holders, they can all sponsor their illegal alien parents for green cards. To accommodate DREAM Act aliens and their parents, numerical limits on green cards are lifted.

The DREAM Act also makes illegal aliens, present and future, eligible for discounted, in-state tuition rates by repealing the federal law that prohibits such a benefit for illegal aliens, unless it is also extended to citizens and lawful residents. Unlike legal foreign students, illegal aliens will also qualify for federal financial assistance.

I have already emailed my senators and my pathetic excuse of a congressman. I plan to do so again this week. I guess they didn’t hear the message loud enough last time.

I thought the “Dream Act” was Orrin Hatch’s baby from way back. Where is his name on this abomination?

What the heck is going on? These senators cannot be all brain dead. They know this is bad for the US and the huge majority of us oppose it. Somebody said they are obsessed. Maybe they are under pressure to deliver no matter what by certain foreign government/governments. Every one of these senators is a traitor.

Amnesty (Harmony)

With apologies to:
Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin

Hello, baby hello
Haven’t seen your face for a while
Have you quit doing time for me
Or are you still the same spoiled child

Hello, I said hello
Is this the only place you thought to go
Am I the only man you ever had
Or am I just the last surviving friend that you know

Amnesty and me
We’re pretty good company
Looking for an island
In our boat upon the sea
Amnesty, gee I really love you
And I want to love you forever
And dream of the never, never, never leaving Amnesty

Hello, baby hello
Open up your heart and let your feelings flow
You’re not unlucky knowing me
Keeping the speed real slow
In any case I set my own pace
By stealing the show, say hello, hello

So that is why Senator Craig refused to resign right away. And stupid liberals think exposing Craig upset conservatives.

What are the chances it passes? What is the best way to fight this? Start calling and e-mailing our senators again?

Repeating the names of these senators who sponsor a bill even liberals should oppose: Clinton, Obama, Kennedy, Hagle, Lugar, Crapo, Craig and cheers from McCain.

Ultimately, this is Craig’s last strike. What happened on June 11 in the airport restroom was not the first incident of inappropriate conduct on behalf of this Idaho senator. In 1982, allegations of cocaine usage and sexual encounters with male congressional pages were pursued by investigators and journalists. In 1994 a young man accused Craig of cruising him for sex at an R.E.I. store in Boise, Idaho. And there is an account from 2004 of Craig instigating oral sex in a bathroom in Washington’s Union Station.

Exactly. Once they turn 21, they can sponsor their entire family including aunts, uncles, etc.

I gotta hand it to them. Despite them being tratiors, they ARE clever and they ARE persistent.

We better have more spunk and determination and tricks in our bag than they do this time, or it is ALL SHE WROTE.

Keep Calling Folks! Keep Faxing! Keep Visiting Their Senate Offices in Your State if you can get to one!!!

The DREAM Act gives them amnesty and federal financial aid as well as access to affirmative action. It’s a NIGHTMARE Act for families of American citizens and permanent residents that have children in college.

it also gives them seats, which would have gone to citizens and legal residents, AND instate tuition.

IOW legal residents will pay for the CRIMINAL aliens.
