I can't speak for my county...but in an adjacent county ALL deputies get their choice of a .223 hi-cap rifle. They're limited by a certain budgetary number for the weapon so things like DSA's version of the M-4 is out of range. My buddy told me that they carry Bushmasters, Armalites, and Ruger Mini-14s...topped with (mostly) Eotech and AimPoint Comp series sights.

They got tired of running into gang bangers and being out gunned. I can relate. :-)
