ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul today concluded a four-day western tour. Beginning Wednesday, September 12, Dr. Paul visited Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Salt Lake in City in successive days. Highlights of the very successful trip included:
"We are succeeding to garner significant support in cities as diverse as San Francisco and Salt Lake City" said campaign manager Lew Moore. "Dr. Paul is showing that the message of freedom is popular throughout this nation."
When Ron Paul gets 5% in a serious poll (meaning, not from the internet, and from a distinguised polling group) then I’ll start treating him like a serious candidate.
Until then, he is fringe candidate who’s supporters are cuckoo for cocoa puffs.
Just because I would never support an old, senile fart like Ron Paul doesn't mean I'm politically inactive. And as for you...by all means keep playing in the Ron Paul litterbox.
Not likely, I’ve got 10 years on you and a political resume of activism that most 50 year olds don’t have. I guess Ronald Reagan would have been a senile old fart, too. Oh well. Are you still in NH? Maybe I’ll see you around :-)
That stencil of Dr. Paul’s face is awesome! I love it! There is a girl from MIT whom I met today. She was picking up litter after some campaign events and saved all of the other candidates signs. She has been cutting these stencils out of used campaign signs. She has a trunk full of them and made one for me in about 10 minutes from an old Huckabee sign!
Being a part of this campaign is really great.
Didn’t some “distinguished polling group” put out the word at the last election that, based on exit polls, John Kerry had won the election?
We keep hearing about straw polls and “legitimate” polls and the huge differences between them. In the end though, the only poll that will mean anything is the one we’re having in November 2008. Until then none of us knows anything except how to blow hot air. That goes for you and me too.
“Dr. Paul is taking the fight right through the hearts of liberal cities that traditionally support the Democratic Party”
IOW he’s speaking to friendly crowds.
If Dr. Paul brings out 400 conservative Republicans in San Francisco or Seattle (well, try over 1000), I would rather have them than 40,000 baby killing, big government nannies in our “big tent” from the “heartland”.

I realize the man is a doctor but isn’t his job as a U.S. Representative more current and meaningful to the campaign, or are we going with “Dr. Paul” these days in an attempt to pretend that he has no record to speak of or investigate in government service?
“If Dr. Paul brings out 400 conservative Republicans in San Francisco or Seattle (well, try over 1000)”
Those aren’t conservatives for the most part. They are anti-war leftists. They are twoofers. They are Alex Jones-bots.
But they are not conservatives.
I saw a video where Ron Paul was discussing 9-11 with ‘Scholars for 9-11 truth’. Are these the educated young people to which you make reference? The representative for ‘Scholars 4 troof’ was discussing the possibility of an investigation into 9-11 with Paul.
Paul equivocated and wouldn’t come out and say he believed 9-11 was pulled off by our government. Yet, finally, Paul managed to out-loon the loons and took nuttiness to a ho nuvver level. Paul stated that most investigations into conspiracies were cover ups anyway, but assured the young man he would look into it. Paul also told the young man that he would get with Kucinich and see if they could work together and get an investigation rolling. Paul seemed to think telling this troofer he had worked with Kucinich before would give him more credibility with this youth.
Surely, this is enough, for you to question this mans candidacy, if not his sanity? What more do you need to know?
Also: 1) Why does Paul never correct those who introduce him as a Vietnam veteran?
2) Paul is as sincere about his history of securing our borders as most of the rest of the candidates. Why does he continue to pretend he has credibility on immigration when his past tells a different story?
I think you get the picture. I could go on but there are FRed THreads that need me.
“Actually, antiwar.com was started in response to the war in Bosnia,...”
Antiwar.com and LewRockwell.com are both ‘thruther’ sites and both feature Ron Paul as a ‘columnist’.
Those couldn’t be Ron Paul’s soldiers. I’ve checked the Constitution and it makes no specific mention of muskets or black powder firearms so they must be Un-Constitutional.
As for the “truth” thing, I think I know the video you’re talking about. Poor Ron was cornered. He has said repeatedly that there was no 9-11 coverup, the only investigation we need to do is in regards to the bureaucratic nightmare that had an FBI agent reporting 30-something times to her superiors that Arabs were training to fly planes but not take off or land, and still nothing happened.
Ron Paul served as a flight surgeon for 6 years during the Vietnam war. I have never heard him introduced as a “Vietnam veteran” however he has called himself a 6 year veteran of the Air Force.
The only candidate who might be stronger on border immigration is Duncan Hunter. Even as a Libertarian in 1988, he bucked the party and was for closed borders. He has never flip-flopped on this issue.
