Of course, National Review isn't really a "conservative" publication, per our experts from the cult of Run Paul.

Did you know Ron Paul’s campaign website doesn’t mention he was the Libertarian Party’s candidate for President in 1988?
Gee....I wonder why....

National Review had a great piece about Ron Paul, and his curious history. You should check it out, its not a major column, but revealing none the less. One of my favorites was Michael Leedeen's response to Paul's neoconned speech.
Leeden called him a weasly ignoramus and fool, he must be an evil neocon!

No doubt he wants to hide that aspect. He’s still a Libertarian now, but with the shrimp issue, he’s a LINO too.

Wow.
I”m not seeing the article I’ve referenced here on NR’s website. Thats not all that unusual, but I will note the writer and specific title tomorrow when I get back into the forum.

The Run Paul experts on conservatism here today would call Ronald Reagan a neo-con. Of course, he’d have smiled and said something amiable in return to their nasty remarks and ugly outlooks.

Odd lack of Paulie Girls in the forum today...is there a ‘smoke in’ going on somewhere?
Just wondering....

Perhaps some of them fired up a “j.” Some of their personal pages take dope pretty serious. See JTN’s.

I would like to give some the liberty to go into my fryer and the freedom to spread out on a plate before me...

Yes, the Huffington Post is a real “conservative” website. And Run Paul and Arriana are both keen on protecting America.

Imagine his turnout if he would of timed his visit to coordinate with the Seattle Hemp Fest.
He is a capital “L” Libertarian and should be running as one, instead of trying to harpoon the GOPs chances of beating Hillary.
Paul believes in the legalization of industrial hemp. Paul supported HR 3037 to amend the Controlled Substances Act to exclude industrial hemp from the definition of marijuana. This bill would have given the states the power to regulate farming of hemp. The measure would be a first since the national prohibition of industrial hemp farming in the United States. He favors the legalization of marijuana.
Now should we turn to the issue of Gay Marriage?

The race is already locked in, with only 3 that have a real shot:
1. Rudy
2. Thompson
3. Romney
Get on board or be left behind. This is the last time I’m wasting my time with a Paul thread. I’ve delivered the message that needs to be heard; it’s out of my hands now.
If you Paul fans want to waste your time on an eventual loser fine. I’m just glad you’re not even close to being in the majority. Remember, people other than FReepers vote in these election thingys.

“You had to serve in Southeast Asia to qualify for the Vietnam Campaign medal, not necessarily Vietnam.”
Absolutely. Medals and veterans status are entirely different. I’m a Vietnam Era Vet and the closest I came to Vietnam was Hawaii enroute to Korea.
My point was, most peopld don’t have the foggiest idea of the distinction between Vietnam Vet and Vietnam Era Vet. I’ve never seen Ron Paul claim either status but he certainly qualifies for VEV. I suspect some of his supporters or the media are confused and making claims for him that he does not make himself.
While I most emphatically do not support Ron Paul (check my post history), I think that attacking him for claiming Vetnam Vet status is uncalled for.

The Run Paul experts on conservatism here today would call Ronald Reagan a neo-con. On foreign policy he was, as far from Reagan as you can get.
If you check Christian Science Monitors Empire Builders-Neoconservatives and their blueprint for US Power, ten of the twelve, Elliott Abrams, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, John Bolton (the token non-Jew), Robert Kagan, Michael Ledeen, Lewis Libby, William Kristol, and Frank Gaffney Jr., served in the Reagan administration. Norman Podhoretz was an advisor to USAID, if he was paid that makes 11.
Clearly the neocon hijacking of the Bush administration was the blowback of the Reagan administration.
