PARIS - France's foreign minister warned Sunday that the world should prepare for war if Iran obtains nuclear weapons and said European leaders were considering their own economic sanctions against the Islamic country.
Negotiations and two sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions have failed to persuade Iran to stop its uranium enrichment program, a process that can produce fuel for nuclear power plants as well as material used in atomic weapons.

If only they had talked this way BEFORE the war in Iraq, that war might have been avoided completely.
Of course the venal money handlers in power before Sarkozy who were bought off by Saddam in the Oil-For-Food scandal prevented that.

I suppose that sanctions could work if they had real teeth in them such as destroying their ports and mining their harbors. I’m always ready to give peaceful measures a chance.
Funny how a few weeks of continuous riots will have an effect on foreign policy.

The past two years when I have traveled to Europe for my summer vacation, I have avoided France. Maybe it is time to recognize the regime change in Paris.
At least make an early reservation for a few bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau 2007 when it is released in the Autumn! That is what I am doing. And I am letting the Embassy of France in Tokyo know exactly WHY!!
