Question is who will nuke Iran first. France has nothing to lose by taking action.

Has France put their military forces on alert? That’s what I thought...

It looks like the grownups are finally in control in France.

Then maybe they can attack them instead of us. Sorry war hawks, but I think Iraq and Afghanistan are too important to lose. Iran would tip the balance and would be too much for us to handle all at once. Now if there’s plans to sponsor a revolution in Iran, that’s a different story....

Seems like the French continue to grow more of a backbone the last 6 months. Finally getting fed up with the “religion of peace” I guess.

Could we see Mirage fighters along F-15s and F-22s?

I am braced for war but not sure I can handle the mad flurry of letter writing that is bound to happen instead.

Europe and Japan and China get a very high percentage of their oil from the mid east, more then we do. They should understand the blackmail veil they will be under if Iran gets a nuke.
Are there any sane folks in Iran?
Are the military leaders there sane? Do they want all their toys destroyed? Why don’t they overthrow the mooselimb crazies take over and avoid the coming ass whoopin?

says over Iran not with Iran. Half the world supporting it, half opposing it? Do we fight each other over them?

The five permanent Security Council members -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States -- plus Germany are due to meet to discuss a new draft UN resolution on sanctions against Iran on September 21

Well, I'm sure that'll fix the problem.

"The foreign minister also said leading French companies such as Total and Gaz de France had been urged not to undertake new work or contracts in Iran."

That's significant. Hopefully, other western European nations will follow.

The US has been the frontrunner in Afghanistan and Iraq. Let someone else take the lead in taking on Iran. Remember all those jerks like France, Germany and Russia wanted to “talk Saddam Hussein to death” because the trio were already dealing with him under the table plus UN Secy General Kofi Annan and his son were scamming all the countries with the oil-for-food program and PM of England was vilified for supporting America over Iraq. Lest we forget Canada at the time who’s PM’s brother in law had a financial interest in Iraq over the largest oil company owned by Canadians. Yep, let the rest of the world take on Iran. America can watch.

"We have to prepare for the worst, and the worst is war,"

Any more statements like this coming from France and I am going to need a new tagline.

My first reaction to such statements is that France needs access to fresh intel from us. They’ve run out of things to give away to our enemy.

France has a reputation of doing just that ever since the end of WW2 in europe.

I dont trust em. Not even a little bit. France isn’t run by any elected leadership. It’s almost completely run and operated by life long bureaucrats, just like our own State Department.

WHY would the Frogs do ANYTHING to, or over, Iran? I like his thinking, but I doubt France would follow him.
