Everything else about Rudy Guiliani is liberal. But on foreign policy, he's a muscular Ronald Reagan. The last best hope of the neo-cons? They may well be back in Washington again.

By this article’s definition, I’m a neo-Con

I will not vote for Rudy and ANY circumstances. And yes, I have heard all about the ... not voting for Rudy is a vote for ...

My morals prevent me from taking a positive action (supporting with my vote) ANY candidate that supports abortion.

More on the neocons:

But there's more to neoconservatism than the war. The word refers to a movement that sprang from New York's upper West Side in the late '60s, led principally by ex-liberals who felt welfare policies had veered too far left.

Irving Kristol, a movement founder, once defined neoconservative as a "liberal mugged by reality."

On the foreign policy side, along with projecting a strong military posture abroad, neoconservatives are skeptical of international organizations, such as the United Nations, and ardently pro-Israel.

All of which describes Giuliani. As mayor, he reveled in challenging liberal dogma, particularly on taxes, crime and welfare, and rarely missed a chance to slap the UN.

And while virtually all the Republican candidates for President have staked out positions in favor of continuing the Iraq war, none have made security and the broader war on terror as dominant a theme as Giuliani.

In other words, the War On Islamofascism. Abortion is important to be sure - but the greatest abortion of all to fear is the abortion the Left would perform on our American civilization. They must kept away from the levers of power.

Further proof neocons are really liberals. Instead of backing a good man like Duncan Hunter, they pick Giuliani????

Neo-con is an anti-semitic code word which should be deleted from our vocabulary. To be honest both extremes on both sides use it and frankly, it is ugly./Just Asking - seoul62.........

I’ll be voting exclusively for smaller, less intrusive government and the restoration of the Constitution in every election from now on. I have voted for the lesser of two evils for the last time.

Maybe we should use little subscript numbers:

Neoconservative1 was what liberals called William F. Buckley and other post-New-Deal conservatives in the 1950s.

Neoconservative2 refers to the ex-liberals and ex-socialists who moved to the right in the Sixties, Seventies, and Eighties.

Neoconservative3 refers to the people most actively promoting war with Iraq and Iran.

Neoconservative4 refers to anybody less conservative than the person using the expression.

The thing is Neoconservatives3 aren't necessarily Neoconservatives1, Neoconservative2, or Neoconservative4.

Neoconservative1 has gone out of use. Those people simply became conservatives.

Neoconservatives2 are also getting pretty old now, and don't play an active role in politics, though some of their kids, who were never on the left, do.

Some of the people who are most Neoconservative3 are quite conservative in other areas.

And not all Neoconservative4 are that hawkish.

... Maybe not. It gets kind of hard to read ...
