I was really disappointed in McCain’s performance today. Kerry was spewing vile calumnies and McCain was sleepwalking. There were so many places where McCain could have slam dunked Kerry out of the Senate, let alone out of the debate, but he just rolled over for his “good friend.”

I think McCain has just brought his own brief surge to a screeching halt.

What do you expect? He’s Mr. Inconsistency. One day he’ll hit it out of the park and the next he’ll roll over and play dead. That’s why he’s been mired in 4th place for the past few months. Nobody knows which side they’re going to get. It’s like he picks his platform from a dartboard.

I think you may be right. As I said, he was in prozac mode. He needed to find an over-caffinated self. He just wasn't in the game as I see it, although he held his own with Timmy for the most part.

Looks like McCain not learned his lesson. People get fatigued if he keep coming to the sunday shows with the same message.

Media may love his anti-interrogation, anti-Rumsfeld and any other anti-admin message, but he is going to alienate loyal Republicans. Learn from other top contenders & make yourself scarce to the media & get closer the party people with Radio.

It has long since been impossible for McCain to disappoint me.

I was really disappointed in McCain’s performance today. Kerry was spewing vile calumnies and McCain was sleepwalking.

I had a different take on this one. I thought McCain appeared much the better statesman today than Kerry. McCain remained outwardly calm while dispelling Kerry's whining talking points. I don't believe McCain would have gained any more yards had he lost his temper in the face of yellow-belly Kerry, who was imploding all by himself. Even Timmy Russert looked pained to see Kerry so outmatched.

All in all, I thought McCain had a good performance today. Now, this doesn't mean I would vote for McCain. Just an honest opinion, albeit a different one from the majority here today.

Between McCain, Russert and Kerry, the person I despise most is McCain. What a phony.
