Today, thousands of protestors organized by Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER) marched from the White House to the Capitol protesting the War in Iraq.
Rep. Duncan Hunter, Republican presidential candidate made a surprise appearance at the counter demonstration organized by The Gathering of Eagles and Move America Forward.
HUMAN EVENTS asked Rep. Hunter why he thought he was the only presidential candidate that showed up to support The Gathering of Eagles and Move America Forward.
Hunter declined to condemn his fellow candidates for not making an appearance.
“I think all these guys have schedules that are way far in advance so I don’t want to beat up on any of them for not being out here, but I thought it was important to be here so I showed up,” said Hunter.
Chairman of Move America Forward, Melanie Morgan told HUMAN EVENTS that they contacted and invited each candidate but Hunter was the only one to show. Move America Forward is a “non-partisan, not-for-profit charitable organization committed to supporting America’s efforts to defeat terrorism and supporting the brave men and women of our Armed Forces.”’
I want to give a big thumb up to those who continuing to show support for those who are fighting so that America never has another 9/11.
Here in the North Texas Southern Oklahoma region where Ft. Sill, Shepard Air Force Base, Altus Air Force Base are located there are far more of us in support of the President and the War on Terror. This region voted for Republicans to represent us in Congress.
It never ceases to amaze me hwever that there are those who still don't get it.
As I was reading the letter to the edtior section at timesrecordnews.com (Wichita Falls Times and Record News) this morning, I noticed a bush bashing letter appeared with two replies below giving it a thumbs up.
And, as I was looking at these letters and replies, it made wonder. What kind of planets are these idiots with those stupid and idiotc observations?
Folks, go to timesrecordnews.com and read the September 16 letters to the editor. The very last one and the two responses below it? That is your brain on drugs.
In case it hasn't occured to anyone, we're not fightin Timothy McVeigh or Terry Nichols. We're fighting Al-Queida and Osama Bin Laden. Those are the people who are posing the National Security threats to this country.
For far too long we have allowed Bill and Hillary and the Democrats to govern this country and set policy and rules over the rest of us. over 3000 people lost their lives on 9/11 because of that mistake.
The Democrats do not have our nations's best interests in their hearts. their only interest is in the reacquisition of power so they can missuse and abuse it to go after their political opponents and adversaries.
As they see it it is we, christians and conservatives who are the National Security threat to this country, not Al-Queida or Saddam or Osama Bin Laden
And, if givien the opportunity these bureaucrats would place spies and secret police on all of our street corners watching our every move and listening to everything we say.
That is why it's so vital that we not only undermine their abilities to undermine President Bush and his efforts to achieve victory against the real terrorists. But also that we not only undermine their ability to govern this country and impose their social and political agenda over the rest of us but also to put the Democrat party out of business altoghether.
Otherwise, not only will there be more 9/11's but also there lots of people like you and I in the gulags for simply daring to blow the whistle on the Dems and their unethical and illegal activities.
Folks, there's way too much at stake. We must put the Democrats and and the anti-wat goons out of business for the sake of this country.

Here’s my account of Saturday (haven’t loaded any pics, yet):
What a glorious day we had on Saturday. The weather was perfect.
My husband and I got there about 0730, because we drove in from Maryland and had to find parking. So, we were there while things were being set up for the Gathering of the Eagles. My husband is not a FReeper. He supports me supporting the troops. He was quite impressed with the whole affair.
Luvw, GodblessUSA, Mrs. Nooseman and I had arranged to meet up at the rally. As my husband and I walked around searching for them, I tried to shake the hands of many of the Veterans and thank them for the service.
There was a great turn–out for the rally. And, great speakers. It is very hard to listen to the heart-breaking stories of the Gold and Blue Star families.
I was quite surprised and pleased to get a chance to see and hear Duncan Hunter. I did not get a chance to get up close and personal. Still glad that he took the time to be there.
Let me say that I did not take any pictures of the looney left. I did not want to waste my camera time on them.
Some of those people where disgusting. And, totally clueless even with historical facts to prove them wrong. All those yellow signs announcing that ANSWER was the major player in that protest. Which we all know by now is funded by all kinds of communist parties.
And, I was sick of seeing their signs to end the war, impeach president Bush, but the worst were those signs that were taking truths and leaving out facts to lead observers to believe that the U.S was (is) responsible.
For instance, I had one looney left who walked passed our side and he had a sign listing all these events; the top most, something about killing 15 million jews. I asked him where’s your proof that these things happened. He made some of the wall comment about the British empire. I said, Dude this is America. Get the Sh-t out of here. You’re telling nothing but lies.
I told all the wonkers that they will NEVER impeach Bush, get over it! I told them if they want to end the war, kill the terrorist and bring out troops home.
I got some one-finger salutes and asked one gal if that was her IQ. She moved along with her finger flying high.
And, whenever the gave me the peace sign, I gave it back and yelled, “Yeah, we’ll have victory. Just watch.”
Had one of those “Truthers” stop over and tried to give me a piece of paper with info on “Finding the truth.” I told her I did not want any of that. I asked her is she knew ANSWER was backed by communist parties. She said she was not with ANSWER. I asked her if she was with the anti-war protesters? She said, yeah. I said then move along. She said she just want us to keep an open mind. I told her, I have an open mind, that was why I was there.
And, regardless of what the media said or didn’t say, there was not tens of thousand anti-war protesters. If they lay claim to that, I want proof!
I was approached by a reporter/camera man who asked if he could interview me. I asked him if he was going to ask me loaded questions? He laughed and said, “no, I’m with Fox and I just want to ask why you’re here.” I said ok. Being nervous I don’t remember exact words, but I told him I was there to support the troops and to let the world know that people like Sheehan did not speak for me. He also asked why today? Why not let them do the march? I told him, basically, that I was tired of the world hearing only their voices and hearing their lies.
Given my responses, I’m sure Fox decided to NOT show the interview. LOL
I do believe that many of those looney left were quite surprised by the showing of the counter protest.
Oh, which reminds me, as many of you know by now the anti-American pigs were late starting their “parade”. About 2:30 pm I was getting tired of waiting and when a DC police car stopped near us, I asked one the officers if he had any idea of when the “parade” was to begin. He said, “you know how those slackers are? They do stuff in their own time.” I asked, “if they don’t show, will DC bill them for all of your time?” He said, “oh, they’re here. Maybe they’re surprised by your turn out.” I laughed and said, “Let’s hope we really shock them.” Him and the other officer both laugh and said they hoped so too!
We had a very good showing and a great day for it.
I yelled so much between the GOE rally and the looney left, I’m very hoarse this morning. Still hoarse, today. But luckily I don’t have to talk much in my office.
In parting let me point out: at least the media did spend a considerable amount of time showing how stupidly the anti-American pigs behaved and how many were arrested.

How tragic it is to see old chicken hawks in the Bush administration who are unwilling to talk to potential adversaries but seem so ready to dispatch young people to fight and die.

One observation, the moonbats seemed to have more cameras than protesters.

I'm holding the flag and WastedYears held a GoE sign, "Peace Thru Strength". I did stop once to give ConcreteBob a cigar and to meet a new Protest Warrior. BELOW LEFT: Before we finished our walk, we spent some time harassing a moonbat photographer. We put our sign (WasterYear's sign is at the left of pic) and lowered the flags to block his view of the Patriots.
BELOW LEFT: WastedYears and myself in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue. While there we harassed several Code Pinkos so much that they turned around and walked towards the Capitol. Apparently they and their banner were meant to be the Welcoming Committee for the march that was about 200 feet away. IRAQI KIA BANNER RESCUED
Flib from SC, along with Gold Star wives Deborah (FReeper Debm29palms) and Laura, and other Patriots went to the Capitol for the anarchists 'die-in'. While there they saw the moonbats unroll a long banner. When done with it, it was left on the ground to be walked over and one wagon to be wheeled over it. Not until the banner literally blew over to Flib's feet did she look at it. The banner had ALL the KIAs from Iraq written on it. They respectively rolled it back up. They then walked all the way across the Mall and took a picture of it at the Vietnam Wall. A fitting and heart moving picture. The banner was given to Gold Star Families on Monday.
