Car's explosive contents revealed at hearing for USF students
The St. Petersburg Times ^ | September 14, 2007

TAMPA -- PVC pipe filled with homemade "low-grade explosive mixture'' and a videotape instruction for turning a remote-controlled toy car into a detonator were among the items found in the car driven by two University of South Florida students arrested in South Carolina and now facing federal explosives charges, according to a federal prosecutor...The list also included a videotape that instructs viewers on how to convert a toy electric car into a detonator. Defendant Ahmed Mohamed has admitted making the tape, and in it he says he intended the instruction "to save one who wants to be a martyr for another battle,'' said federal prosecutor Jay Hoffer.

The libs in the senate and congress encourage these subhumans by thier anti war, anti military and race baiting propaganda, the media hides the true story and hides the truth, the judges set bail and let them loose, and the ACLU protests thier civil liberties, they are all protecting these subhumans so they can kill another day! Who will they kill? your mother, my father, our children and grandchildren. These are the enemies within, Sounds like treason to me! Lets start treating them like the enemies they are! ALL OF THEM!

Don’t hold your breath.

One of them was released on bond.

This is the same place where a jury turned Sammy Akrain loose.

KNO3 sugar plastic pipe bombs

The 'authorities' are calling it a 'low grade explosive device'....

How much power does a low grade explosive device have?.....

I'm serious....I'm not familiar with types of explosives.....can someone here give an example.

Someone mentioned an old Clint Eastwood movie with a remote controlled car....

..I remember that movie....a mailbox blew up and killed a guy...

..Is this the capability of 'low grade explosive'?

whoa whoa...wait a minute. Where did this come from?

he says he intended the instruction "to save one who wants to be a martyr for another battle,''

Last, I heard of this story it was a couple of muslims with pipebomb/fireworks in their car. When did it turn into this. I'll try to catch up. Obviously I missed something.

This info was just released today at their hearing in Tampa, along with the info of what was in the car (see the article)...so you aren’t that far behind the news...it’s actually breaking news as of the posting of the article.

“Freedom of Religion is a fundamental right”.

I agree with you, but what happens when your religion cannot coexist with any other set of laws or religions? What happens if your religion denies the rest of us all of the other rights guaranteed in the constitution and tries to replace them entirely with Sharia law.

“Freedom of religion is a American fundamental right, even for Muslims”

Maybe it used to be that way but no longer...face it- there is no more freedom of religion any more...freedom of religion means the freedom to worship in one’s own way...not any more-now it is a matter of PC or not PC...so now, religious freedom is no longer measured in terms of a persons ability to worship in his own way, but is measured against what others perceive to be politically correct behavior and speech according to their secular, non-religious views...For example: let an Imam preach hatred and destruction of America and nothing happens..because he has free speech (non-secular0...But Let a Catholic priest stand at the pulpit and just hint that his parishioners maybe should not vote for a pro-choice candidate and whammo, the media is down on him like seagulls after crumbs on the boardwalk (= secular judgment of a statement based on religious belief)...and threatening to take away the Catholic Churches Tax exemption...But that is ok...the PC people are reaping what they have sown: seeds of discord, crushing the good people- in our society and empowering the worst... if things don’t turn around we will lose all our freedoms and our country will surely collapse..

I believe that an overreaction.

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war."
Ann Coulter

"We should demolish all mosques on American soil, send all muzzies without citizenship papers back to where they came from and convert the rest to Christianity."

“Government Appeals Bail For USF Student”
By Thomas W. Krause of The Tampa Tribune and Elaine Silvestrini of The Tampa Tribune
Published: September 14, 2007

TAMPA -
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “At the hearing, prosecutors trying to prevent Megahed from being released on bail told Jenkins that investigators found a radio controlled boat, similar to one described in a YouTube video by his co-defendant, Ahmed Mohamed, as having the ability to detonate an explosive device so they could “save one who wants to be a martyr for another day, another battle.”

When Megahed and Mohamed were arrested in South Carolina on Aug. 4, investigators found four one-foot long pieces of PVC pipe filled with a potassium nitrate explosive mixture, fuses and bullets in the car. Megahed told investigators he didn’t know anything about the devices. But prosecutors today told Jenkins there was an audio recording in the sheriff’s car of a conversation between Megahed and Mohamed. In that exchange, Megahed is speaking Arabic and acknowledges the existence of the devices, according to prosecutors.

A seized laptop computer showed a video of a Qassam rocket in use, instructions on M-16 rifles and videos of martyrs.

Investigators also found an instruction video in which Mohamed gives instructions on how to remove the remote control device from a toy car.

Mohamed describes how the device can be used to detonate an explosive. Mohamed says if the device were to be used, a martyr can be saved and used later.

Mohamed also says the remote control from the car is similar to a remote controlled boat.

Investigators discovered that Megahed did possess a remote controlled boat.”

“I waited to see what kind, and lo and behold, KNO3-sugar plastic pipe bombs!”

Not even up to the quality of decent fireworks.

Amateurs. KN03-sugar doesn’t even burn very well, much less detonate.

Nevertheless, the intent was obviously not fireworks fun.

PVC pipe filled with homemade "low-grade explosive mixture'' and a videotape instruction for turning a remote-controlled toy car into a detonator

Right up to here this sounds like several guys I've known growing up. The only missing item was the half drank 12 pack in the backseat.

...The list also included a videotape that instructs viewers on how to convert a toy electric car into a detonator. Defendant Ahmed Mohamed has admitted making the tape, and in it he says he intended the instruction "to save one who wants to be a martyr for another battle,''

Now this OTOH doesn't sound like anyone I knew. Hang em.

BATFE has recently decided that “sugar” fuels like KNO3-Sugar mixes are “explosive”.

While the stuff is commonly used in model rockets where it is expressly designed NOT to explode, apparently there are some mixes that can be used in pipe bombs with some effect. Not as good as other pipe bomb mixtures, but not “fireworks” level either. Does not matter, ATF decides, not us.

BATFE has been on a roll recently, getting after sugar fuels, Ammonium Perchlorate, flash powder, components, and common pyro chemicals. Getting caught now with something you legally bough two years ago can land you in a heap of trouble (and you won’t know it now).

http://www.rocketryplanet.com/content/view/1124/95/

Companies like Firefox and Skylighter will be shutting down, though they do not sell explosives.

These guys could have had model rocketry in mind (they had rocket fuel and rocket fuel igniters, and the PVC pipe could have been a commercial rocket body for all I know), or had planned on making a smoke bomb for kicks, not realizing that BATFE had declared common smoke bomb components to be “explosive”. We may find out, if the trial they get is run fairly they’ll get a chance to explain what they were doing with the stuff.

Thank-you for the explanation...quite informative!

..but it seems one of the guys has already confessed to making the tape for a suicide bomber, if I read correctly.

Until people understand that islam (which I refuse to capitalize) is not a “religion”, but rather a plan for world domination masquerading as a “religion”, we will have no effective means of defending against it. The muslims (again, no capital letters) have tried to conquer Western civilization before and are trying to do so again - except that this time we’ve been weakened by traitors from within like the ACLU. For the record, screw “allah” and all the worshippers of this moon “god” demon.

UPDATE - apparently Megahed didn’t get too far:
SNIP:
A judge set bail at $200,000 for one of the defendants, Youssef Megahed, but the government immediately appealed, which means Megahed will remain in custody.

I agree with you post, but that being said, we do live in the real world and islam will continue to be recognized as a major religion.

A fifth or better of the worlds population are Muslims, so your point is sort of moot.

We as a country need with that and understand and deal with it in proactive way.

Banning Islam will do nothing but make them more resilient to impose their will on the west.

Vigilance to take out and marginalize the radical ones that drive their ideology of hate will go a long way to keep them in check.
