Aren’t K’s usually used as signals?

Is that a large cross near the plane? A signal? Old crash sites are typically marked with a large X so that future searches won't waste time on them. They do tend to get worn from weather and, the X marks are renewed IF someone gets around to it....

No trailing debris...slide/skid...I dunno, but definitely worth a look.

If it’s a cross on public land there will soon be a federal judge involved.

In SAR, a large X means unable to proceed. And yes, I SEE the X in there too, and yes, if I saw that on a flyover, I'd call in a helicopter to bring rescuers.

Is that a large cross near the plane? A signal? I think that big red circle is even more effective.

(My simplifying explanation had the disconcerting side effect of making the subject incomprehensible.)

At first, I thought you needed glasses! Then, I SAW it! It is NE of the plane’s (possible) location. GOOD eye!
