All that many voters know about GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is he's Mormon something his wife, Ann, said she's trying to change by hitting the campaign trail herself. "We find that is all they know about Mitt," Ann Romney told the Deseret Morning News Tuesday during a fund-raising stop in Salt Lake City for her husband. "That's just one piece of the puzzle."
Utahns, of course, know Mitt Romney from his years leading the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and they had contributed nearly $4 million to his campaign by midyear. The majority of Utahns belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
But while Romney is doing well in Utah as well as the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire, he trails in national polls. "People don't know him," Ann Romney said. "It's very important for me to be getting out and doing as much as I can."
Including, sometimes, answering questions about her family's LDS faith. "We are breaking down I'm assuming we are some misperceptions. But that's part of the job we have to do to break through," she said.
Since April, she has maintained her own campaign schedule, pitching her husband's presidential bid to mostly Republican women's organizations throughout the South as well as in California and other states.
And Ann Romney is convinced there will come a time when the campaign can move on from discussing religion. "That's exactly what happened in Massachusetts," she said, referring to her husband's term as that state's governor. "It's interesting to people if that's all they know about," she said. "But when we fill in the dots and they look at the whole picture, it fades and people look at his record, his stands and what his positions are."

As I was driving to work yesterday morning, I heard Ann and Josh Romney on the local radio station here. She is very intelligent and articulate. She would be a very good First Lady.

The Romneys, who fell in love in high school and have been married since 1969, have been described as too good to be true. The Boston press has even suggested over the years that they live in a sort of Twilight Zone because they don’t drink, smoke or quarrel.
Ann Romney said she’s not bothered by comments about her marriage, any more than she is by the interest in the size of her family. The Romneys have five sons, all married and all active in the campaign, and 10 grandchildren.
“Our marriage is solid and strong, and we’re proud of that,” she said. “There have been lots of jokes made about it, but we find it kind of funny, too.”

Yes, she would. The best out of the bunch I think.
She’d be a fantastic First Lady.
Hey, Utah Girl! Hope all is well. Mrs. Romeny would, no doubt, be one of our finest first ladies.
Hi. :)
I’ll be at Bryce Canyon on October 2! Going back to that awesome site for the second time. Can’t wait! :-)
"Our marriage is solid and strong, and we're proud of that," she said. "
In a time when marriage is under attack like never before in mankind's history, we need Republican Presidents with traditional marriages and families to set an example for the country. Of the first tier candidates, Mitt Romney and his family, exemplifies those values best.
Ann is an articulate, attractive, classy and mature woman who undoubtedly would make an excellent first lady. She has a GREAT personality too! : )
Saw her on C-Span a while back in a meeting of ladies in South Carolina I think it was. She does seem to do her hubby proud.
Ann is the best candidates spouse of the bunch. She would be a great First Lady. The fact that they have a long marriage and support each other is so inspiring. However, Mitt still is not my first choice. lol.
The Elites feel a need to prop Mitt up, I guess.
Is the word “delights” an LDS term? I’ve never heard it in any context other than in the Old Testament and The Book of Mormon (example Jacob 2:28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.”). I didn’t see one instance of this word in the New Testament. So I’m wondering, other than use of delight in the sense “I’m delighted to see you”, do non-LDS use the phrase “I delight in xxx”? So, its interesting that Ann uses this term.
Have a great time. I wanted to hike the rim this month, but I am very busy at work.
That is the one question about Mitt Romney thats been answered.
Its all the other stuff, the changes in position, that explains why he hasn’t run away with the race already.
Hmmm, I don’t know. I’m not LDS. I can’t recall hearing the word in that usage.
I thought it was an interesting title for the article, and it seemed to me a phrase with a religious meaning. I was surprised to see so many instances of that word in the Old Testament, and actually one use (in Romans) in the New Testament. If anybody is familiar with this, I'd be interested to know why that word isn't used much in later writings.
I think the term ‘delighted’ is a Utah Mormon term. The word ‘sweet’ is also used in a religious context a lot in Utah too.
