Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.

This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.

Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.

At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.

The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.

That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.

Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.

This is a developing story so keep checking back here on CBS4.COM for updates

Don’t worry...I’m sure Rev. Al and/or Rev. Jessie are already on top of it. :)

I don’t believe that I did, but I know where you mean. I had a friend of mine drive down that long stretch to the marina and right where the sharp curve is, went into the canal at a good clip:-( She died, the friend in the car with her lived, but had to swim out of the canal in the dead of night and walk back, what in the 80’s, was a very desolate road to the apartments by the junior high. They were both 16.

I went to that junior high though;-)

Accessory to murder? If it was a hangin state she could swing.

"...I got out of Dade county in 1970 when I thought it had really gone down hill. I can only imagine what it must be like living there now..."

It's now called Miami-Dade County.

The MDPD is still in good order—I retired from MDPD in 1999, then left—taking the flag with me. Parts are still nice. I lived in "unincorporated South Miami", just north of the newly incorporated "Village of Pinecrest"—a holdout residential community of mostly lawyers, with their own municipal police force *rolling eyes*.

Prior to 1970, I tried to get friends to move there. After 1970, I told them to "stay where you are".

Your antagonist reads exactly like a poster I know from Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, who has a lot of time on his hands while at work. Look for multiple changes in aliases as he gets caught trolling.
