Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.
This is a developing story so keep checking back here on CBS4.COM for updates
Yup, and yup.
This dude was probably on the way to blow up a school.

I’m just troubled because he was wearing a bullet proof vest and on drugs at the same time. I thought I remembered reading where Al-Qaeda terrorists were encouraged to use drugs if needed before they committed the slaughter. Any info on that?
Haha.....something like that.
do you know how many blogs Wehner is now permanently on? I bet he can sue the MDPD
_____________
Yep, that would be rather depressing if I were him.
Is it La Beet or La Feet?

I’m not near the TV now so I don’t know.
The police spokesman says the photo of the clean-shaven man is LaBeet not Wehner
No shit! I caught one in the shoulder in 1991 and it hurt like hell. Got a pretty purple pendant for it though.
It’s been the pattern ever since the hassasins, who gave their name to hashish.
The most recent source would be the news reports from the airport firebombing in Scotland.
Remember the cabbie who broke his foot kicking the perp in the crotch to no effect?
I just know the chechan terrorist who killed those kids were all hopped up on drugs.
On another guy named Labeet.
guys, guys, guys...
cant we just all agree?
hes wearing a blue shirt.
(and a bulletproof vest...
...maybe)

2) Cause you're Italian.
That is correct. I didn't crop Wehner's name off the LaBeet photo due to time constraints here at work.

No criminal history known on Lebeet.

Shawn Sherwin Labeet Suspect In Miami-Dade Shooting, Not Kevin Wehner
By Jack Ryan
Sep 13, 2007
Police have been misled in the Miami-Dade shooting - Shawn Sherwin Labeet is the suspect, not Kevin Wehner. Shawn Sherwin Labeet is a 5 ft. 10, 25-year-old black male.
Miami Shooting - A manhunt is currently underway for gunman and cop-killer Shawn Sherwin Labeet, who shot and killed one officer and wounded three other officers.
UPDATE: The search has now widened and tips have come in to police. They are searching Western-Dade County. Warner is said to be wearing a bulletproof vest and may have purchased 3 AK-47s back in March. The suspect may be armed.
Shawn Sherwin Labeet, 25, shot at the four officers during a standoff at a Southwest Miami-Dade apartment complex, according to Fox News, and one officer has now died as a result of the gunshot wound. The officer’s name has not yet been released.
A white Honda Accord with a black hood, believed to be the suspect’s, was found abandoned near a canal near Southwest 216 Street and 129th Avenue. The car had a shattered front window, presumably from bullet holes.
The scene began to unfold after a shooting at an apartment complex at Southwest 143 Court and Southwest 280th Street. A helicopter is hovering over a wooded area at 143rd Court and 280th Street, where the man is believed to be hiding. The man is described as a black male, close short hair and a blue shirt.
An AK-47 rifle was used by the gunman in the attacks, however the police have since recovered that weapon. However, the police believe the man is still armed with other weapons. Schools in the area are under lock-down, however, there are no students in the buildings, due to the fact that it is a teacher work day.
There is no word as of yet on the condition of any of the officers. Police are requesting that residents in the area, consider the man armed and dangerous and request that you stay indoors and lock your doors.
