Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.
This is a developing story so keep checking back here on CBS4.COM for updates
I remember that... And when a reporter asked the chief why the perp had been shot 140 times, the chief said something like, “ i reckon the officers ran out of ammo.”
Classic... I miss living down south.
Prayers for the officers and their family members

Yep, I remember that. 9 officers with AR-15s turned him into swiss cheese.
Someone needs to track down whoever said that a have them fired.
Channel 10 reporting and had footage of a SWAT team checking doors and windows of a home.
News helicopter broke off coverage.
Now showing SWAT guys riding on the trunks of police cars.
Looks like reinforcements.
May get busy soon......
Wasn’t that incredible? The Sheriff was in the middle of a press conf when we all heard an incredible volley in the background. It took over a year- but “they” finally cleared all the officers of any wrongdoing..
If I recall- the perp was an illegal alien.
And I’m sure Jessie and Al are on their way. Gotta protect this guy’s rights ya know. *spit*

just receivd this CNN breaking news email:
— One officer killed, three wounded in a shootout today in a Miami-area neighborhood, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez said.
Yeah, he said something like “Whoops, sounds like we got him, gotta go..”
Is that the “chubby white man” that they are looking for? I thought I saw a small picture of this guy during the press conferences.
Fox is also confirming one was shot fatally.
Channel 6 showing police inspecting an abandoned red pickup on the grass on a side road.
