This is too funny to watch the fear in the Rooty McRomneys over Fred’s entry into the race and his ensuing race to the top of the polls. Here’s a secret, Fred was drafted by conservative those of us who were nauseous at the choices we had in the “top tier”.

My prediction back in April was that when Fred came in conservatives in the party would flock to him because he would be the only non-RINO in the race. That’s playing out as we speak and those millions of us who urged him to run after looking at his Senate voting record AREN’T GOING ANYWHERE despite the ramblings of an effete, bowtie wearing east coast scribbler.

Is Fred a “perfect conservative”? No, (nobody is)but he’s head and shoulders above the flip-floppin Mormon and the cross-dressing gun grabber and the wide open borders guy from Arizona.

Fred was begged to enter the race by those of us who didn’t want to have to hold our nose when we entered the voting booth next November. If the movement in the state and national polls less than a week since Fred entered are any indicator, we won’t have to.

Bob Beckel: “Fred Thompson is the Left’s worst nightmare”.

Our choices suck.

You mean the choices the media made for us?

None of them are my choice.

What sucks is people willing to accept the choices given, and willingly supporting them because "only they can beat Hillary"

Our choices suck.

Even with Fred in, the current field splits roughly 25% to each of the top 4. And Newt is still begging for loyalists to beg him to join the fray.

Unless something spectacular happens, it is quite conceivable that none of the top 3 or 4 can garder enough delegate votes to be a clear winner as the Convention begins.

It will be interesting to see who would emerge from a brokered convention.

The danger for the GOP with that is it could split the party and give the presumptive Dem nominee (HClinton) enough to win in 2008. The RNC will push a big-business/pro-comprehensive immigration candidate who could alienate a large segment of the right-of-center conservatives.

“Our choices suck.”

Most of them do.

I, however, am very pleased to have a strong, consistent, ethical, prolife, pro-American, pro- free speech rights, pro- gun rights, pro-private property rights candidate to support.

He’s not a flip-flopper, he’s not an elitist, and he did not send congratulatory notes to the former president he was supposed to be investigating. Nor did he write a brief to the SCOTUS, advising them of how important it was to restrict our right to speak, and he doesn’t march in Gay Pride parades.

Who am I supporting?

Duncan Hunter, of course.
