oNow that it’s no more, fire the overpaid over degreed administrators who concocted the idea into policy.
They backed down.
What should happen now is that every kid in the school should wear the stars and stripes for a whole week. Show the school what they really think.
I could and I did when I went to high school one county over from Sampson County. I went to North Duplin. Home of the Rebels!
You could wear armbands protesting Vietnam in the 70s but you couldn’t wear clothing with American flags on it now?!? It’s good the ban was lifted, but who the hell came up with that idea? Osama himself? What’s wrong with showing some patriotism? Obviously an America-hating treasonous leftist invented that brilliant idea. Sheesh.
There was some controversy over students wearing foreign flags (perhaps Mexican flags?) and so the school instituted a NO FLAG policy.
I am reminded of the 6th grade teacher in California who burned 2 inches of the classroom flag after 9-11-2001 and told the students “don’t tell anyone”.
Every so often, the public just has to stand up on their hind legs and slap the daylights out of some local bureaucrats.
Aint it fun?
As the great-great-grandson of honorable Confedarte soliers, my son pasted a Confedaerate flag on his note book when he was in high school a few years ago. One teacher asked him why he put it there and I told him to say that it was his heritage. The teacher backed off.
And the south Shall raise again (and in no way is it raceist to thing so., I love Southrn culture (Both Black and White! ;)).
I always understood it to be a violation of flag etiquette to wear the flag on clothing; am I wrong?
nope...not wrong
As the great granddaughter of two fine Confederate gentlemen ,who served proudly in the War of Northern Aggression ,and several cousins and great uncles also ,I too am proud of my heritage. If we can have illegals protesting in the streets ,waving their flags ,our children and grandchildren should be allowed to wear our country’s colors (Rebel flag included!) at school.I was raised in a little Texas town ,Orange. Our school song was to the tune of “Dixie”. Our flag ,which waved proudly at our football games was the Confederate Flag. We were taught the words to Dixie at a very early age. And we all turned out pretty well.
The school got what they wanted, which was no patriotic symbols on 9/11. No victory here at all.
