I loathe unions, but if those teamsters are U.S. Citizens and work in the United States, they sure as hell get my vote to work over foreign nationals.

Why oppose competition?

Why assume someone born here is of necessity superior to someone not so fortunate as to their birthplace?

Hear hear, D1.

It appears the majority in both houses of congress are now fully attuned to the sentiment of the American people on this and related issues and are acting/voting accordingly. Took 'em long enough. Guess they want to keep those cushy jobs.

The President, otoh, obviously doesn't give a damn. Full steam ahead on that globalist agenda.

I don’t think this issue is about who drives the trucks, it’s just that the we need standards on truck safety. That means it’s still an open border policy (with standards). Granted it’s pandering to Teamsters, but it’s feel-good policy. What happens when regulations demand an upgrade of standards to the fleet of US trucks? Talk about $$$ for the carriers. I recall clamor way back for a spring bumper for US trucks to prevent decapitations in rear end crashes. The amount to retrofit is as silly and feasible as US airlines to add anti-missile flares.

Not unions, but the independent owner operators were hurt worse as the union thugs would gladly sign up the Mexican Truckers!
