“I would never allow an unsafe truck on our highways, particularly Texas highways,”
He’s lying.
As of Friday, there is still no way for me to verify the credentials, i.e. insurance, authority to operate, and safety histories. Nor is it possible, even, for a Mexican Carrier to certify a driver under 49 CFR Part 391.xx.
This whole mess is only to serve the interests of big, and I do mean BIG, business and the inevitable corruption that will follow.
Add this as a chapter in the book of...”How America Was Sold...With No Money Down”.

I don’t know all of their motivations. I’m sure some are pandering to unions. Others may have taken right signal.
But I am looking to see if my senators voted for the ban, and if they did, they will get my B I G THANK YOU!
The bill number appears to be wrong:

It curries favor with Conservative, too.
This is indeed good news. Now there’s much more work to do to stop this invasion and hopefully soon, we’ll have a President who gets it because the current one sure doesn't.
Oh I bet there will be some “Free Traders” show up on this thread....
But the rest of us are awakening to the fact that NAFTA is bad ju ju.
It also gives them a leg up in the eyes of conservative voters that don't want the amnesty wool pulled over their own eyes.
In short, Is this really good news or okay news or bad news or a combo of all three?
The Senate doing something right!
Another one for the “broken clock is right twice a day” file.
How about just repealing NAFTA!
Hip-hip-hooray! They did something right.
Uh huh. Say Cornyn, when you call someone a "discriminator", is that the same as calling them a "racist"?
"I would never allow an unsafe truck on our highways, particularly Texas highways," he said.
We are waiting anxiously for Inspector Cornyn to take his place with the Texas Dept. Of Transportation any moment now.
It’s about damned time the Senate grew some balls.
I think this is the right decision for all the wrong reasons.
Food for thought: This concept could catch on. If this helps the Dems in 2008, then they can adopt Hitler’s Play book and round them up. Just replace Jew with Mexican and load up the rail cars.
“...and may amount to discrimination against Mexico.”
It’s more like “discrimination” against the traitors that want the American people to “say ah” as they ram Mexico — the juggernaut of the NAU in train — down our collective throats!
