Mrs. Trooprally called me this evening to tell me that she and her husband, as well as Concretebob, saw damage along almost the entire length of the Vietnam Memorial Wall. They found this damage this morning, when they walked through the area before participating in the September 11th Freedom Walk.
Concretebob was told by a National Park Service employee that the damage was done on Friday night. There was no police report taken or written about the vandalism, apparently. And the damage was still very much there today.
Here are a few of the photos that Mrs. Trooprally took this morning...
This first one is not so noticeable, but as they walked into the center, it got worse.
It looks like the person who did this walked along The Wall with some type of container, perhaps hidden at their side so that they could squirt the oily substance without being caught in the act.
The names along the lower part of The Wall appear to have taken the brunt of the damage.
Because of the reflective nature of The Wall, Mrs. Trooprally had a tough time capturing the extent of the damage. Mr. Trooprally said that the oily substance has discolored the shiny stone, but that it has been absorbed into the more porous area where the names are etched into The Wall.
Above is a picture of a man using a weedeater. It should make it clear to you where the gas / oil mix is and where the damage has been done. How can you reconcile your argument based on this information that appears new to you.
Therefore the discoloration observed bust sic(must) have been spittle by mutant lizards from planet twelve.
Your new "explanation"?
And/or a weedwhacker with one hell of an oil tank. Oh well, selective attention deficit disorder takes over the media. It’s been buried.
See the post right above yours ........
TANKS,,,this should come off no problem,,,
From what I can tell from the pics this was done buy some guy that didn’t have the gas-cap on good,,,the drips go
about a foot or so up the wall then back down to the curb area as he walked,,,I’ve used these blowers before and the gas-cap is nearly 4ft. (some) off the ground and have had them leak on my leg,,,
There was no report filed for a reason...
Oh, yah, okay, okay, it was a lawn mower with ... no wait... it was fries. A whole bunch of elementary kids with fries. Yah, that’s it.
That was done by the scumming cowards known as liberal dimocrats. Homosexual loving, abortion loving, Stalin loving, Lenin loving, Marxist’s Dimocrats. The pigs of the earth. May satan hold a special cell for them in his hell.
Leave blowing at night?
I don’t have the lawn crew schedule and have no reason to look for it as I am not making this absurd claim. Perhaps y’all should post the schedule for Friday night including a list of equipment used and the workers that were using said equipment. Maybe you can have SWAT perform a no-knock on them before midnight and clear all of this up.
Leave = Leaf.
Oh hum.........
I just don’t buy the “loose gas cap/oil leak” theory.
What would a gas engine blower be doing so close to the WALL?
If it was at the top of the WALL, than there should be NO marks on the WALL face. And if some was ‘blown’ onto it, it would NOT leave an up & down trail.
And a ‘leak’ is different from a forceful ejection from a blower. A leak would have gone straight down.
And the reason for not wanting to make a report, I don’t know other than to surmise that they wanted to be PC. A lot goes on in D.C. that doesn’t go reported to the police or media, so long as there is no personal injury.
[Mr] T
Well when the Supreme Court says it is alright to burn the US Flag, bans prayer in schools, upholds Muslim rights to special meals in prison, still allows murder on demand, allows Euthanasia in a certain western State, lets a certain Princeton Professor say it is ok to euthanize the old and disabled, etc etc ,is it any wonder that a lowlife scumbag knows he can desecrate a National Monument and get away with it...and the DC Po lice look the other way...Bet the Flame over JFK’s grave is still burning brightly though !..and he’s the one who started us deep into Vietnam in the first place !...for shame !
Rotten lowdown scumbag pigs who did this. Shame on them
Look at the video and keep up your weedeater garbage.
Thanks tgslTakoma!
The video clearly shows a stream going up and down the WALL face. A oil leak from any gas driven device would just drip straight down.
There is also a part of the video showing the stream going away from the WALL as if the perp walked around a late night visitor.
I tried to ping those who had already posted. Hopefully I didn’t skip anyone. The D.C. Chapter is also getting pinged. Hopefully you don’t get double pinged.
If I'm still up when Part Two is posted, I'll ping you right away.
[Mr] T
This is clear vandalism. Someone did it with a squirt bottle of some kind. No doubt in my mind it is intentional.
This was no leaky weed whacker.
This was no dog peeing.
After watching the video and looking at the pattern as the videographer walked along, there is no doubt. None. If it is proven othersise, I will eat my hat.
These people just plain suck.
Coupla folks took off like scalded dawgs when you posted the video!
My point.
It is not established what the substance is, whether it was put there on purpose, or by whom. Even given al of that, Who decided where and why? But why let that stop you from assuming?
Guarding our National Memorials? How absurd and more government spending. This is not different than vandalism in your local cemetery that police can do nothing about these misdemeanors. People need to clean up their act. They need to teach their kids respect and many adults need to learn what honor and scruples are. It is a sign of the times, our diverseness and acceptance of all kinds of outrageous acts that are veiled by political correctness and entitlement. This type of destruction is not only dishonorable it is a tragic sickness within our society.
Oh, right. It just accidently jumped up on the wall in the middle of the night. Sure. Right.
