She is still in office but I think she said that back in 2005. Not sure on that.
I agree.
Awesome, of course they’ll want her words stricken from the record. But, they had to hear it.
why is the Congress like a high school auditorium? Are they 16 year olds?
Murtha is not only a coward but also a traitor in truest form.
Truer words have never been spoken.Murtha is not only a coward,he’s a traitor.
Amazingly, there are some Jean Schmidt haters here on FR.
For those of us stuck with dialup, what did she say?
Sticks and stones.....
What’s wrong with these people? Awfully touchy. Let her speak.
Loved it!
Old news.
Would they rather have had a Paul Hackett in there opposing the war effort? Jean Schmidt would get my vote just for the courage she showed when she communicated the Marine's quote. God bless her.
“Ms. Schmidt: Yesterday I stood at Arlington National Cemetery attending the funeral of a young marine in my district. He believed in what we were doing is the right thing and had the courage to lay his life on the line to do it. A few minutes ago I received a call from Colonel Danny Bubp, Ohio Representative from the 88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do. Danny and the rest of America and the world want the assurance from this body - that we will see this through. “
See was reading a message from a serviceman. The message from the serviceman to Congress was “to stay the course” and his message to Murtha was “cowards cut and run, but marines never do”.
So the DEMS who love Murtha yelled about her words! Figures!
What are you all talking about?
This is something like a year or more old......
And she said it all QUICKLY!
Judging from her wonderful words, she’s a great American.
...and in a red, white and blue outfit.
yeah baby
Yes, this was a while back. And after all the flak about it, she did apologize and ask that it be removed from the official record.
Wasn’t that back when the Rs forced the Ds into a vote on Murtha’s “cut n run” resolution? Didn’t Murtha vote against his own resolution? The Ds made such a stink about the whole vote.
I recall that it almost got physical at one point.
