GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Disgraced Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu was upgraded to good condition at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction today, three days after he had to be taken from an Amtrak train in the Western Colorado city with an unknown ailment.

Hsu had been scheduled to appear in a San Francisco court last Wednesday on a 1991 felony theft conviction but disappeared until Thursday, when Amtrak officials called the Grand Junction fire department to report a passenger had become ill on the California Zephyr.

He had previously been in fair condition.

Hsu remained under guard at St. Mary's Hospital Sunday. Hospital spokeswoman Kim Williams said she could not discuss the nature of his ailment and did not know when he might be released.

Hsu was expected to be turned over to local authorities when he is well enough to leave the hospital. Mesa County sheriff's spokeswoman Heather Benjamin did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Jason Booth, a spokesman for Hsu, was in Grand Junction but has said he was not allowed to see Hsu. Booth did not immediately return a call Sunday.

The New York City-based Hsu has been a top fundraiser for Democratic candidates, including U.S. Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, donating $260,000 to Democratic Party groups and federal candidates since 2004, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Good news that Mr. Hsu is feeling better. Bill Clinton can stop shedding those Ron Brown tears now. /sarcasm

There needs to be a modern-day Woodward and Bernstein to really investigate this and find out what it’s about.

Is there a connection between the PRC and the Democrats?

There’s been a connection since 1949.

Yep, but I don’t think that was the basis for their conclusion at all. If it were, I’d cut them some slack.

Jason Booth’s employer.

Yes, who is paying the bill?

I’m also interested in who paid for the chartered plane that brought Hsu to Oakland Airport and where did they bring him from?

Hsu is costing some one a lot of money.

That's a good question. Unless he was transported against his will, Hsu had his passport so he could have tried to get out of the country rather than fly to Oakland. That would indicate to me that he planned to turn himself in. He arrived at 5:30AM but then boarded Amtrack at 7:00AM so he changed his mind or had his mind changed for him. It would be interesting to know who he came into contact with during that 1 1/2 hour period.

Another unanswered question..........how did the FBI know so quickly Hsu was in Grand Junction hospital?

An article I read had comments by a couple of people that was on the train. Hsu was roaming the isle of the train without a shirt and shoes. Freaking out one person said. Sounds as if Hsu was traveling alone,eh?

It just makes absolutely no sense at all.

(Which should probably read, "It doesn't make any sense at all", but, OUCH!)

Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu was upgraded to good condition

He'd better hope he doesn't get an Arkansas Relapse.

Good question....there seems to be a real lid on this thing now - we don't know any more now than we did two days ago except that Hsu's condition is now classified as "good".

$inator Hilldebea$t has offered for a boy named Hsu, free medical care from her favorite Doctor for those who embarrass her. Dr "K" will help Hilldebea$t control free health care co$ts, if she becomes president.

Hillary and Clinton Inc. can not be feeling good about Hsu feeling good. Hopefully he will sing like a Bird, that is if the Bush DOJ has any cojonies....

Of course they don't. From the start Bush has simply wanted everyone to get along.

IMHO, they just did a routine toxicology screen on his blood & urine. I doubt if they have a diagnosis other than change in mental status. I wonder if all of his samples were used up in the testing, and what’s the chain of custody? If it was attempted murder, who gets the jurisdiction on an interstate train if you can’t establish where the attempt was made?
