This is what I meant when I said Fred was like a Ross Pero spoiler. As far as I can see, all he has done is split the GOP base. As to the links you graciously provided, I will check them out now. However, you did not respond to my contention that unlike the other GOP candidates Fred Thompson still seems to be under the radar screen. Meaning, if political junkies like us have to research him for any information how can he get past that and make any impact on the general population?I repeat, the little (very very little) I have seen of Fred Thompson, I am very impressed with. But to date I still don't see him getting above his grassroots supporters. Thank you for the links & I apologize for not checking them out earlier.
SORRY about the double response...I don’t know how I did that ~
Just as I started to put this together, something strange happened to FR. Anyway, it all seems to be working again, so here goes.
As we all know, unless someone gets nasty, there are really no bad comments on the Sunday morning thread, and all of the contributions are appreciated. Lots of really good ones don’t make the list, but I am NOT expanding it. It’s hard enough as it is.
Again, using my super secret criteria, here are the selections from last week.
Let me start with a special mention for Alas Babylon! for his wonderful 9/11 post #82. We have not forgotten and we never will.
Continuing...
10. A tie between doug from upland (may the Angel Gabriel protect him), for updating us on that criminal couple he bedevils with his efforts at #62m 64 abd 85, and NautiNurse, who has obviously taken time out from storm watching to keep a close eye on the Hsu matter as evidenced by #56, 74 and 93.
9. AliVeritas, who always comes up with great research and links, provided some outstanding links at #266.
8. STARWISE for a great post on the Clinton crime family penchant for lying at #277, which serves as a great reminder to us all what we are facing and why we had best stick together.
7. MNJohnnie as always providing thoughtful opinions on the issues that we are dealing with at #45, 57, 65, 71 and 80.
6. Laverne, such a smart, funny observer of the contemporary talking head scene. Don’t believe me...see #51, 61, 75, 77, 92, 123, 106 and 210.
5. LZ_Bayonet proves it is as important to notice what they don’t say as what they do at #228.
4. rodguy911 never has a bad day and that was true again as you can tell by #32, 33, 47, 52, 54, 67, 72 and 76.
TOP 3 COMING UP
What I thought was going to be a brief interruption turned out quite differently but I finally made it back.
Here are my top three picks for Sunday, Septembe 9, 2007.
3. Sal for posts 84, 87, 254, 286 and 338.
2. anita, and not just for the always wonderful nuggets post at 63. She just kept it coming at 6, 34, 39, 49 and 251.
1. jmyrlefuller who had a steady drumbeat of clever, witty, observant posts throughout the morning at 16, 19, 38, 81, 98, 130, 144, 149, 155, 216, 242, and 270.
Many thanks to all who participate.
I'm going to miss this Sunday's thread at least until evening, but I'll look forward to catching up then.
