Britain is becoming increasingly segregated across all age groups by wealth, health, education and other factors, according to a pioneering atlas based on people rather than geography. The cradle-to-grave "atlas of identity", to be published on Monday, provides a visual representation of the stark social contrasts now dividing different areas of Britain, and even adjoining neighbourhoods.
It shows how the area in which an individual lives can be a strong predictor of their identity not only in terms of class but also health, family structure and likely lifespan. It can even reveal the likelihood that a person is divorced - divorcees are clearly clustered along the south coast, possibly because property there is cheaper and the population is older - and when they are likely to have their first child. Women in the affluent south-east are generally much more likely to be older when they give birth.
The atlas is also groundbreaking in its breakdown of the population by age, according to researchers behind the project, at Sheffield University. They say mapping based on the "seven ages of man" reveals "ever more clearly that where you live can limit or assist your life chances from cradle to grave".
In the first stage of life (under five), there are no large neighbourhoods where children in the highest social class mix with any other class of children, other than the one just beneath them. Meanwhile, young adults in the third stage of life (16-24) in the poorest neighbourhood are nearly 20 times more likely not to be

I met a woman last week from the city where the kid was shot by roving gangs. She said it has really gotten terrible in England, they are moving out by the thousands, she said 200,000 last year, the most ever.
She also said they have had 5 shootings in the last month in that area.
She hates what the muslins are doing to her country and also these gangs.

Did you really? You mean Liverpool, where the same number of people are shot every year as are shot every two days in Los Angeles?

Yeah, it’s really bad here. We have far less rape, robbery and murder than America does, but yes, it’s a total hellhole! Of that 200,000 two thirds will return within three years and the rest are retiring somewhere warm. Britain has 250,000 American immigrants who have had enough of the US and moved over here for a better life. ;-)

The 2.6% of the population that are muslim are doing very little to the country, except in the eyes of the sensationalist media. No more than your 3% of muslims are doing. Fortunately the 92.9% of the British population that is white anglo saxon celtic christian is quite able to look after itself and our gangs are amateurs compared to the US ones who kill hundreds every year, more than our entire murder rate, but don’t let the facts get in the way of your hearsay. . . . .
Replace ‘Britain’ with ‘the US’ and the story is the same.

FYI - the murder rate for whites in the USA is lower than it is for whites in the UK (read that a while back, don’t have the numbers on hand). Our crime statistics are driven wild by blacks killing blacks and, to a lesser extent, hispanics killing hispanics.
Not saying bad about the UK - lived north of Oxford for 3 1/2 years and loved it - but crime statistics everywhere tend to be misleading.
I'm sorry, but that is no longer true. The per capita rate of violent crime is now lower in the US than in the UK, thanks in large part due to the difficulty of owning and using guns in the UK. There was an interesting article in the Times about that today.
I don’t think you are correct. US rates have been falling, and UK rates rising, but the last time I looked our rate (US) was about 4 times that of the UK.
However, general statistics aren’t very helpful. If you are a young black man in Detroit, DC, or New Orleans, your odds of being murdered are extremely high. If you are a white farmer in Kansas, you are probably in greater danger of a lightning strike than a murder.
Our murder rate is driven almost entirely by those Democrat Party controlled hell-holes like Detroit, LA or DC.
All we wanted was the right to starve in peace, establish Liberty, oppress our fellow man, and in general be left alone.

Please understand, Britemp, we Freepers are in no way attacking your country, which we cherish as our own nation's spiritual fatherland. We do not forget that our own ancestors were Englishmen and that the history of England, Scotland, Wales, and the Isles is a magnificent one. It is because we love the UK that we are deeply concerned for her, and for our friends who live there.
