Original thread headline: "Soccer Team will NOT wear Red White and Blue for World Cup"

In a celebration of women's sports on the 35th anniversary of Title IX, U.S. Soccer and Nike unveiled the new U.S. Women's National Team uniforms...

The uniform features a solid gold torso, marking the first time the U.S. Women have worn a color other than red, white or blue as their primary color. The new kit has a gold-outlined U.S. Soccer crest over the left chest and a gold collar, and features white and blue trim on the right sleeve and red and blue trim on the left sleeve.

I can not imagine any other country's national team shedding it's country's colors on a uniform! Zero Patriotism here! There are taking pride not being so outwardly "America".

Here is the link to the actual jersey: http://www.ussoccer.com/sights/slideShow.jsp_330-0.html

This is just another reason I refuse to buy anything made by Nike.

Is Nike a U.S. company?

Did Nike design it or just fill the order?

The team's appearance at Sara D. Roosevelt Park took place just two days before the Title IX anniversary.

As I suspected..... Liberals no doubt designed this

Top of the sleeves are red, white and blue. But why did they feel compelled to crow about the gold?

Morons.

Soccer is boring. No wonder the fans overseas have huge riots.

Big deal. They look fine to me. I like the gold, and it seems such a waste to whine about a team's outfits.

Bigger fish to fry, FReepers. Bigger fish to fry.

As much as this decision PO’s me, I only watch women’s volleyball if the Brazilians are playing.

Why not just make ALL the teams wear the same colors? After all, we are just ONE girl, ONE boy, ONE tree, ONE world........./sarc

I'm still surprised that women's volleyball is not the most watched High School sport. At least by the guys.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

It looks really ugly to me. More like a cheap, off-color tent than gold, and it doesn’t go well with the trimmings.
