What Made Norman Hsu Run?
Wall Street Journal ^ | September 8, 2007 | By IANTHE JEANNE DUGAN in New York, JONATHAN CHENG in Hong Kong and BRODY MULLINS in Washington

At a New York restaurant overlooking Central Park in April 2006, the governor of Pennsylvania sat down to dinner with about a dozen Democratic supporters. The 10-course meal in a private room at Per Se, including dishes like Nova Scotia Lobster Tail "Cuite Sous Vide," cost about $18,000, says a diner who was there. The host, Norman Hsu, was a businessman that the crowd admired but knew little about.

In the past few weeks, much more has become known about Mr. Hsu: That he had filed for bankruptcy twice, including a time in 1990 when he said he had no income, no job, and little more than a Toyota 4-Runner and a jade ring. And that he was wanted by California authorities for grand theft charges to which he had pleaded no contest in 1992, then fled before facing sentencing.

Mr. Hsu turned himself in on that matter a week ago, after news coverage of his past -- which began with a Wall Street Journal article about his unusual campaign giving -- had brought the conviction to light and led politicians to hand over some of his campaign donations to charity. Mr. Hsu posted a $2 million bond -- and then he vanished again. On Wednesday, when he was supposed to appear in court in California, he instead boarded Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr near Oakland. Along the trip he fell, was taken to a hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., and arrested. On Friday, authorities were taking steps to send him to California.

[...friends of Hsu express concern about his
mental health and physical well-being....]

You said: Maybe his ‘GOOD’ friends should’ve
been concerned as soon as he got involved with
the corrupt *Clintons?...]

>>>>>His good friends ARE the Clintons<<<<<

Running from the law (sin) WILL make you sick.
So according to his depraved handlers he now
is a pitiful victim. Give me a break. By aiding
the Clinton’s this man is guilty of an attempt
to destroy the United States of America. Hang him!

[... Mr. Hsu’s past, illuminated by documents fished
out of storage at various courts and interviews with
former partners and friends, is full of failed
businesses, a KIDNAPPING, lawsuits and bouts of
financial ruin followed by hard-to-explain recovery.
He charmed friends, relatives, and college classmates
into investing in real estate, restaurant and apparel
businesses, many of which failed, stranding investors...]

You mean a journalist actually did some “RESEARCH”?
How can this be?

Lessee.... Jim McDougal, Vince Foster, Ron Brown... and those are just the names I can think of off the top of my head.

It’s absolutely uncanny how many people who have embarrassing information on the Clintons have had their eternal tickets punched in short order.

This guy is obviously not suffering any mental problems though. Trying to get out of town fast was the smartest thing he could do.

His only hope is to keep his mouth shut and hope for a pardon at the end of Hillary’s second term.

I keep hoping that some day the chickens will come home to roost on Hillary and Bill’s head. So far, no such luck.

So many questions.

I sure hope the FBI is going to be asking the questions.

Follow the money right back to the government in China. These people know the clinton’s have been bought and will gladly take more of their money FOR POWER and the presidency of these United States.

Dream on...

The Clintons get away with the crap they get away with because none of their opponents are anywhere near as ruthless as they are. Arkancide may be the ultimate weapon in their book, but it is by no means the only one. There was the threat of the FBI Files, the use of the IRS, private goons, etc., etc., etc...

Sell secrets to the Chinese? Flog the Lincoln bedroom to the highest donor? I am actually surprised that they didn’t auction off Chelsea’s virginity when she qualified. Imagine the donation they could have gotten if they had thrown that in the Lincoln bedroom package.

And, if all else fails, there is always the old lie, deny, cry, bite lip, change subject, ignore...etc. Never give up, never back down, never admit fault and most importantly NEVER resign.

Any chance there ever was of bringing the Clintons to justice was shot to hell when Bush took office and wimped out, took the easy road, tried to suck up to the Dems and quickly and quietly forgot all of the Clinton misdeeds.

They got away with it before, they will get away with it again simply because they literally have no shame and are always willing to fight as dirty as it takes to win.

The uncomfortable fact of life is that bribing the President and much of Congress to surrender the interests of the US, is cheaper than trying to build a military that could fight the US

Consider that a congressman making 100K or so of official salary has a lot of control over how $TRILLIONS of dollars are spent

I agree. I’d still like to think one day they’ll get what they deserve, even if it is in the afterlife.

Repeat after me: Bernard L. Schwartz.

Bernard L. Schwartz.

Bernard L. Schwartz.

Bernard L. Schwartz put Norman Hsu on the Board of Trustees of The New School:

A further 148,000 pages at Google listing both their names [up from 109,000 when the scandal broke]:

And, of course, Bernard L. Schartz taught the Chicoms how to build missiles that could make their way out of the lower atmosphere, giving rise to Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles which could reach the continental United States and anti-satellite missiles which could take out our command and control infrastructure:

Bernard L. Schartz should be hung for treason.
