What Made Norman Hsu Run?
Wall Street Journal ^ | September 8, 2007 | By IANTHE JEANNE DUGAN in New York, JONATHAN CHENG in Hong Kong and BRODY MULLINS in Washington

At a New York restaurant overlooking Central Park in April 2006, the governor of Pennsylvania sat down to dinner with about a dozen Democratic supporters. The 10-course meal in a private room at Per Se, including dishes like Nova Scotia Lobster Tail "Cuite Sous Vide," cost about $18,000, says a diner who was there. The host, Norman Hsu, was a businessman that the crowd admired but knew little about.

In the past few weeks, much more has become known about Mr. Hsu: That he had filed for bankruptcy twice, including a time in 1990 when he said he had no income, no job, and little more than a Toyota 4-Runner and a jade ring. And that he was wanted by California authorities for grand theft charges to which he had pleaded no contest in 1992, then fled before facing sentencing.

Mr. Hsu turned himself in on that matter a week ago, after news coverage of his past -- which began with a Wall Street Journal article about his unusual campaign giving -- had brought the conviction to light and led politicians to hand over some of his campaign donations to charity. Mr. Hsu posted a $2 million bond -- and then he vanished again. On Wednesday, when he was supposed to appear in court in California, he instead boarded Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr near Oakland. Along the trip he fell, was taken to a hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., and arrested. On Friday, authorities were taking steps to send him to California.

"Why don't they just come out and say what his immigration / citizenship status is? "

They (the WSJ) don't know and can't find out. That would be my guess.

But, what I want to know is will that idiot judge confiscate Hsu's passport and clap him in jail as a flight risk. Any bets?

...a great many friends of Norman Hsu have expressed concern about his mental health and physical well-being.

Maybe his 'GOOD' friends should've been concerned as soon as he got involved with the corrupt *Crintons - eh?

"a great many friends of Norman Hsu have expressed concern about his mental health"

Whoa! Where did this "mental health" angle come from?

There are no reports anywhere that I'm aware that question Hsu's mental state.

But Hsu's Democrat connected lawyer suddenly brings up his "mental health?"

This stinks.

If I were Hsu, I'd get a lawyer I could trust, not a Demoncrat hack who would sell me down the river to protect Hillary.

***This Hsu character sounds like a real heel!***

Yes, but didn’t he claim to be the sole owner of some business at one time?

“There are no reports anywhere that I’m aware that question Hsu’s mental state.”

It is taken for granted that anyone working to reelect those he was contributing to, has a mental health issue!

Mr. Hsu's lawyer issued a brief statement Friday afternoon saying that "the strain [Mr. Hsu] has been under during the last week has been enormous and, perhaps, unbearable. We will be getting him the best medical care available."

These assurances re Hsu's health have an oddly hollow; if not ominous ring. . .

Meantime, how does Hsu rate, the BEST medical care; and WHY?

And am wondering as well, who called Mr. Brosnahan into this. No cheap lawyering here. Who is paying his fees? The bankrupt - broke and 'broken' Mr. Hsu?

Meantime, back at Clinton, Inc.; Hillary's dirty work is never done. . .

(Also. . .WHO is in control here as per FBI. . .our men. . .or 'their's'. . .)

Yes, but that business was laced with discrepancies and when asked about he became tongue tied.

This is from Wikipedia, so can't say for sure if all this is true:

He came to the United States at age 18, obtained a BA degree in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1973, and received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School in 1981. He and other Hong Kong partners formed the sportswear company Laveno in 1982, which went bankrupt in 1984. He then created other sportswear companies, including Wear This, Base, and Foreign Exchange. During this time, he became a naturalized American citizen.

He’ll be dead before he can give any statements regarding Hillary. That you can count on.

"Where did this "mental health" angle come from?"

I assume a legal ploy to keep out of jail . . . and . . . you would have a 'mental health' problem too if you suddenly became an embarrassment to the Clintons.

With several governors and others in the audience, Mr. Hsu grabbed the microphone, according to someone who was there, and ordered anyone who wasn't supporting Hillary Clinton to "get out!"

Someone needs to put a 'Made in China' stamp on the Queens rear end.
