NRA Director Says Five Rounds is Enough
JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP ^ | September 6, 2007 | The Liberty Crew

That JPFO and the NRA have different views on "gun control" is no secret; you can read our position -- and view supporting evidence -- at http://www.jpfo.org/alert20061211.htm . You can also read an article on the NRA's recent alignment with gun-prohibitionist Carolyn McCarthy at http://www.jpfo.org/smith-nra.htm .

And now, NRA Director Joaquin Jackson has publically stated that magazine capacities should be limited to five rounds and that "assault weapons [sic] should be limited to military or police." That's right -- a director of the supposedly pro-gun NRA wants to take YOUR semi-automatic rifles away.

Don't believe us? Think it's just a rumor? View the evidence for yourself at http://www.klru.org/texasmonthlytalks/archives/movies/jackson5_44k.mov (we also have it mirrored on the JPFO site at http://www.jpfo.org/joaquin.mov ).

Already the NRA apologists are coming out of the woodwork. Anyone who points out the hypocrisy of Jackson's position are denounced as "wackos", "black helicopter paranoids," and "just trying to make a buck."

It's time to "Humiliate and Repudiate" Joaquin Jackson and the NRA. Go to http://www.jpfo.org/handbill-joaquin.jpg to see our latest handbill. Print it out and distribute it to those who still believe the NRA is working in the interest of gun owners. They are not.

If you value the truth more than betrayal and want an aggressive defense of your natural and Second Amendment rights, visit http://www.jpfo.org/member.htm to learn how you can join JPFO. We encourage you to use our "gun control" destroying books and videos ( http://shop.jpfo.org ) and get on board with us today.

The NRA quit me about 17 years ago. Their continued willingness to negotiate away gun rights pissed me off. To this day I refuse to donate or support them. I wish others would wake up to their foolish ways. The NRA has enough members to DEMAND about anything they want to on gun rights but continue to give along to get along. Screw ‘em.
Yeup-me,too. Gave up on them when they capitulated during the assault weapon ban under Clintgoon. Haven't they learned that there is no negociating with these people? Reminds me when I read about the history of Vichy France during the war...

Just how do you think the NRA capitulated?

Thanks 2A mama. Great analogy.

And welfare. Better to ‘manage’ the problem than to have it go away.

I’m done with that outfit. Should’ve dropped my membership long ago.

If we didn’t have individuals and groups like the JPFO and GOA pushing for the ‘extremes’, the NRA would have surrendered more of our rights. The middle is defined by the ‘extremes’ although I don’t believe it to be extreme to demand that your rights not be infringed.

The more you demand and the more you fight the more you get to keep. Unfortunately, our rights are being negotiated away so we, as in any other negotiation, have to demand it all or we get nothing and lose more.

Sure it does because what the NRA says and does still affects me and my ability to exercise my rights.

Nice strawman, but still a strawman and I never claimed to be a current member.

“...if the leadership wants him gone,...”

That’s the key question. Do they really want him gone? If not, why not?

The political power may not be there for the organization (shouldn’t we be against political power for lobbyists?) but the political power is still with the people (members and non-members) that elect the members of Congress and the President. If we work more on the education of the people, we change their views of guns, gun control, the Constitution (look at what the educational system has done), etc. we can get more Constitutionally pro gun candidates elected which will cause the demise of gun control laws.

It does not need to be just JPFO, but all pro gun groups large or small. If the NRA refuses to change, then all the other smaller groups do it and end up with the same end result as if the NRA had changed.

I applaud your efforts. But again, SAS, like JPFO, is a 501(c).

Not sure how long you've been in the fight for RKBA. Me? Decades, not years. Here is a quote (2000)from one of NRA's fiercest critics. Neal Knox. A rocker of boats. A man with a command presence.

"...Other organizations may boast of their defense of the Second Amendment, but all put together are no more than an irritating gnat to Congress and state legislatures. Where NRA goes we all go. When NRA goes in the wrong direction, we all go in the wrong direction. That's why it is sheer foolishness for members to resign their memberships. That's why you should vote in NRA Board elections. Who sits on the NRA Board is important-if they just don't sit."

______________

When Neal Knox walked into a room, people didn't tremble, the building did. I miss that guy...

I'm very aware of SAS's status...I'm the Director of Operations for SAS and I've been in the fight for decades too!

So your saying we should just give up and not bother? Sounds like the pro amnesty crowd, “we can’t deport them all” so we should just make them legal. So what if it takes years, we need to do it any way to ensure that future generations don’t repeat the mistakes that were made.

The last time I checked JPFO was an educational group. Not a lobbying group. Is that correct?

Also, the NRA has a president, vice president, executive officers and about 75 directors on the board. Most of the small groups only have one person in charge and they are run like a family owned business. The SAF has Alan Gottlieb and the GOA has Larry Pratt's son. It's a little easier for the smaller groups to control the press releases and what gets out to the media. The Texas Rifle Association had it's president call for a ban on assault weapons around 1995. That didn't make it to the media probably because the media doesn't pay attention to the smaller groups.

Look, I am not saying for anyone to quit any group(s) nor am I trying to drum up membership for any group(s). That is for individuals to decide for themselves. Those that choose to join or stay in the NRA need to work to educate the members and create change within the organization. The same can be said for other groups when it is needed.

We need to end the caving on gun control, we need to support all gun ownership (even if we don’t own some types) and we also need to educate children not just about the Constitution but also about guns (use, care, etc.).

Although this is most disturbing indeed , it is the very reason why I shall not ever ask permission from the FedGov to persue natural human law . For me it is equally useless to be part of a special interest group who will “ work “ with the very people who desire to enslave my God given rights .

My rights as a citizen are clearly spelled out from the Founding Fathers . There is nothing else to be debated on the matter in my world . However , these types of threads are always a great social studies class for me .
