Underdog Paul Inspires Political Passion

Avery Knapp is typical of the Paul Web supporter. A 28-year-old radiology resident, Knapp describes himself as a lifelong conservative who voted for President Bush in 2000 before growing disillusioned with the Iraq war and federal spending.

Bush "did nothing but increase the size of government. The Republican Party needs to move back to its core principles," Knapp said. Many Paul supporters share Knapp's disdain for what he called a "neo-conservative clique" and hope Paul can spark a Goldwater-style insurgency.

At 46, Kevin Leslie has never bothered with politics. After watching an interview with Paul during his 1988 campaign as candidate for the Libertarian Party, Leslie told himself, "If this guy ever runs for president again, I'll back him."

Paul did, and Leslie was good to his word, starting a prominent Paul blog in February and traveling to the recent straw poll in Ames, Iowa.

LOL. He has "never bothered with politics" but he was following Ron Paul and the Libertarian Party WAY BACK in 1988? That's classic, AP!

Avery Knapp is typical of the Paul Web supporter. A 28-year-old radiology resident, Knapp describes himself as a lifelong conservative who voted for President Bush in 2000 before growing disillusioned with the Iraq war and federal spending.

Funny, "a Lifelong Conservative" who happens to repeat verbatim the script Moveon.org teaches it Seminar Talk Radio callers to say.

So did the "Journalist" here bother to ask how this "limited Government Life long Conservative" felt about Paul's utter hypocrisy on earmarks? His defense of earmarks as "a necessary tool of Congress"? His $400 million in earmarks including Federal Money to shrimp farms? Paul is a demagogic fraud whose rabid ignorance on Foreign Policy is ONLY exceed by his hypocrisy on spending.

Ron Paul cannot get any more then 3% of the vote in any serious poll. He not only fails to connect with Freepers, he cannot connect in any serious way with average Americans. The Paulbots simply keep screaming their dogma to drown out the fact Paul is the candidate to no where.

The Paulbots are either old Dinocons Buchannites too arrogantly certain of their own intellectual infallibility to realize the stupidity of their Neo Isolationists dogmas in a post 09-11 world or Leftist Moveon.org Anti American types who think Paul will be a Trojan Horse they can use to factionalize the Conservative movement.

These people have never been, and never will be, Republican voters. You can see this in the fact that the bulk of his support on any poll here comes from NON members. People who are not Conservatives but merely troll this site at the encouragement of the Anti American Leftist fringe groups.

Watching Ron Paul perform at the debates is not very inspiring...can’t envision him with that snively voice and sour looking mug as POTUS. He lacks WAR GUTS too.

Ron Paul is a RINO. Him whining about the “neocons” last night made him sound like a typical DUmmie.

I think Ron Paul would have difficulty becoming President of the local sod farm. What a friggin’ joke that guy is. How come he’s even in the GOP race? Kinda sorta.

Problem is, most of you n00bs DON’T think. You regurgitate whatever someone else has posted, kinda like the anti-Paul talking point of the day. In the day when the Clowntoons were still in the [dingy] White House, Dr. Paul was widely admired by many of his current detractors. But now that a Pubbie has sullied the premises and totally dissed the Conservatives and the Constitution, we have the anti-Paul crowd baying at the moon. Why? Who knows. But it’s as if they’re afraid that someone will take Dr. Paul and his vision of a LIMITED-GOVERNMENT, CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC seriously and we will have what it was the Founders gave us so long ago. To the big government, warfare/welfare state “conservatives,” nothing is scarier than freedom... because with freedom comes the responsibility of taking care of yourself... without big government to hold your hand and care for you from cradle to grave... and besides, FREEDOM means they won’t be able to control the lives of others anymore, as both they and the libs are so desirous of doing all the time.
