What ever you do, stay away from Hawaii; the flip-flop is the state shoe.
To: paulat
I hate them, and I frequently tell my coworker who wears them in the summer that I hate them. I hope when Fred becomes prez he puts a stop to this insanity.

Flip flops may be nearing end of season, but I don’t think Crocs are going away anytime soon.

I don’t just mean flip-flops...I mean these shoes that are also called “mules,” which are sexy in the bedroom...but not in the workplace....

Be thankful for them.
If a person is so lazy and cares so little about his/her job that he/she would wear flip/flops to work, then you know that he/she is not a person to trust with anything important.
Think of them as "never going to make it" footwear.

Oh, by the way, you ought to see what the women in courtrooms get away with wearing these dys...it is horrendous! Baggy flour sacks, mules with hairy toes sticking out, while the men still need suits and ties. I make it a point to still wear closed toe and vey nice knee length dress with jacket or knee length skirt and jacket, or slacks and jacket with closed toe shoes, but the wierd outfits many of my compatriots wear is too outrageous. a well dressed male lawyer asked me “what’s she wearing?’ and I answered “Something that is way too big” —this female lawyer had on a big long ribbed bag of a dress that dragged on the floor and a matching jacket that reached to her knees....she looked awful.

Not just flip-flops. Any shoe without a strap or something to hold the heel in the shoe is subject to making that noise.

If I could, I’d wear them every day. I particularly like the cheap $.99 jobies form Target. Black, thin, no arch support, etc.
Luv em.
To: paulat; All
Get over it. Men and women wear them at my workplace.
