Vice Chairman of Russia's State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky has urged the fast delivery of the magnificent S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems to Iran.
Speaking at the open session of Russia's State Duma on Wednesday, Zhirinovsky stated, "S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems should be delivered as soon as possible to enable Iran to defend its airspace."
The S-400 is a new generation of anti-aircraft/anti-missile weapon system developed by the Russian Almaz Central Design Burea

However, the S-400 is designed to be more effective against stealthed aircraft such as the U.S. B-1 and B-2. And Russian officials claim it has twice the operational rang of the Patriot, currently generally regarded as the finest air defense system in the world against intermediate-range, though not intercontinental-range, ballistic missiles.
RIA Novosti said the S-400 air defense complex successfully passed its live firing tests on July 12-13 at the Kapustin Yar firing range in south Russia’s Astrakhan Region.
The Russian news agency said the S-400 system “has been designed to intercept and destroy airborne targets at a distance of up to 400 kilometers — 250 miles — or twice the range of the U.S. MIM-104 Patriot, and 2.5 times that of the (Russian) S-300PMU-2.”

No. SLAM is no longer in use. But it was an air launched cruise missile based on the Harpoon airframe with a video feed seeker head.
SLAM = Standoff Land Attack Missile
The upgrade is the SLAM-ER. ER = Expanded Response.
Still only air launched.
LACMs (Land Attack Cruise Missile) from a US submarine would be a Tomahawk.
then what DID the Navy call their sub-launched land-attack cruise missile??? and i may be wrong but i think there's still a fair number in the Fleet.
they can see planes coming from miles away on radar. they NEVER know where the subs are and they can launch from just off shore with little or NO warning before the first wave hits.
