Ron Paul Wins Debate but Republicans Won't Gamble on Him

Ron Paul clearly won the Republican presidential debate last night held in New Hampshire. Viewers were asked to text in their thoughts on who won the debate, Ron Paul received 34%, Giuliani 17%, all others lower. Fred Thompson who did not appear at the debate was clearly the largest loser as his pro-war stance and republican hard line talking points seem to be not what the people are looking for.

Sean Hannity, Fox News pundit, was clearly upset with the results and deliberately ridiculed Congressman Ron Paul. Although outpacing all other candidates by a 2-1 margin, it was clear that Chris Wallace and Brit Hume had tones of sarcasm when talking of Ron Paul. Giving absolutely no credence to Cong. Paul's responses, they even cut off his answer in a heated exchange between Paul and Huckabee, then declaring that Huckabee won the debate on that point.

Ron Paul demonstrated last night that he is the only Republican candidate that gives any thought to issues and his answers, all others gave stock replies and mostly followed the party line.

"Iran IS a Bigger problem."

So why did we take out Iraq who was the enemy of Iran?

This is not American Idol people. We are electing our candidate for President of the United States to probably run against another Clinton. Can we get serious here? I'm disappointed that FNC would pull such a unscientific stunt.

I knew before checking that such a comment had to come from a FReeper from the pre-Bush era. There was once a consensus on this at FR. Too bad so many people don't grasp it, not having sat through an open primary with the libmedia in full attack mode and pulling out every trick in the book.

Hopefully, we can continue to utterly destroy the credibility of all of these polls.

The only poll that counts is the one with actual voters. Don't believe any others, don't pay attention to them. The only ones our GOP candidates pay attention to are the ones they pay for and control themselves. These polls are libmedia tools to destroy Republicans, especially conservatives.

FR was once infamous for destroying all these same polls (freeping a poll). Now people whine about it. Weird.

Oops. This should have read:

But you can bet the Paulistinians are pole texting experts.

***************

I'm sure they are. I wonder how many registered voters over the age of 45 have ever used the text feature. Yet who is more likely to vote?

Don’t worry, HillDawg will not win this time! :]

Unless she pulls a large-scale Christine Gregoire! (After the fact we are finding out that she did not win at all)

From that site
“Ron Paul also wants to deport every single undocumented immigrant. Paul shamelessly exploits 911 for his anti-immigrant agenda when he says a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas when he knows full well there were no 911 terrorists and that the attack was really a controlled demolition. Kucinich wants to grant permanent legal residence to immigrants living in the US for 5 or more years and conditional legal status and work authorization to all law abiding immigrants living in the US for less than 5 years.”
Both nutz!

First off I do not for a minute rely on Casino online gambling.com for the latest and greatest political news coverage.

BTW, the online gamblers were run out of business. Who was the only person who spoke out, voted against it, led the limited effort to defeat the online gambling ban? Ron Paul, of course.

There are over 20 million angry former online gamblers, mostly just penny-ante poker players. We plan to exploit them if possible. My brother is still mad about it.

Secondly where are the numbers posted, something newsworthy. You might as well have posted this from the DAILY KRAP..er..I meant KOS. I mean gimme a break.

Ah, some numbers you want? Would these do?
Daily Kos: D-Kos Presidential Primary
Yeah, Ron Paul with 60% over at the KOSsacks too. LOL. You've only seen the beginning of this horrible spam. We just passed 40,000 registered MeetUp activists, well ahead of schedule. We could have 100,000 by January.

He won the poll. That's what the article was referring to.

Sorry, I saw the headline. :) Congrats to RP for winning the poll...he certainly had a huge cheering section.

Was that Hannity who I could hear laughing during the questions to Paul? What sheer unprofessionalism.

No! It was the fat man who was sitting behind Brit

“So why did we take out Iraq who was the enemy of Iran?”

Because BACK THEN, Iraq was the bigger threat, had a huge WMD program, and was our sworn enemy, with proven ties to terrorist organizations who wanted to destroy the U.S., and the programs we’d been using to keep them at bay were about to be abandoned by our friends in the U.N., in favor of supplying them with whatever they wanted. For humanitarian purposes, dontcha know.

I have no way of proving that this poll was manipulated. I can tell you what my gutt feeling is. When the primaries come along, it’s going to become rather appearant what has taken place.

You do realize this is all deliberate, don't you? It's no accident that Fox chose this method instead of their previous instant phone polls.

Can anyone guess what cut of the 20¢ text calls Fox News will get out of this operation? My guess is in the 5% to 8% range.

If you guys don't like it, write them a letter. But they'll probably be busy cashing their check from this "poll". And yes, they knew full well the likely outcome since it is mostly the under-forties who text, especially the under-thirties and the teens. All a deliberate choice, made solely by Fox News. Not by Ron Paul.

I will tell you I thought Huckabee’s response to Paul was powerful. I know others didn’t like it one bit.

Pretty weak. I guess he can still interactively recite phrases from the Pledge though, a nice display of impromptu Baptist preaching skills.

The key event last night, virtually unnoticed, is Ron Paul named and blamed the Saudi government for the involvement of so many Saudis in funding terror (Kosovo, elsewhere), in 9/11 and in supplying most of the terrorists who are currently attacking our troops in Iraq. The reactions to those statements will be truly interesting.

“That is a very dangerous and short-sighted idea. If we leave Iraq without stabilizing it as an enemy of terrorism, we leave ourselves wide open to a huge increase in terrorism.”

Stabilizing it how? By backing the Iranian influenced government or the Sunni Warlords in the Anbar province? They are opposed to each other by the way.
