Ron Paul clearly won the Republican presidential debate last night held in New Hampshire. Viewers were asked to text in their thoughts on who won the debate, Ron Paul received 34%, Giuliani 17%, all others lower. Fred Thompson who did not appear at the debate was clearly the largest loser as his pro-war stance and republican hard line talking points seem to be not what the people are looking for.
Sean Hannity, Fox News pundit, was clearly upset with the results and deliberately ridiculed Congressman Ron Paul. Although outpacing all other candidates by a 2-1 margin, it was clear that Chris Wallace and Brit Hume had tones of sarcasm when talking of Ron Paul. Giving absolutely no credence to Cong. Paul's responses, they even cut off his answer in a heated exchange between Paul and Huckabee, then declaring that Huckabee won the debate on that point.
Ron Paul demonstrated last night that he is the only Republican candidate that gives any thought to issues and his answers, all others gave stock replies and mostly followed the party line.

This is not American Idol people. We are electing our candidate for President of the United States to probably run against another Clinton. Can we get serious here? I'm disappointed that FNC would pull such a unscientific stunt.
Who’s the douche that wrote THIS drivel?
Now that’s what I call downright dog abuse!
“When we got Saddam and they got the purple finger vote, our job was finished.”
That is a very dangerous and short-sighted idea. If we leave Iraq without stabilizing it as an enemy of terrorism, we leave ourselves wide open to a huge increase in terrorism.
Iran could just walk in and take it over.
Our enemies are fighting us on many fronts, the largest one being Iraq.
If we leave, we not only send a message about our willingness to defend ourselves and our interests. Kind of like the message we sent after Somalia, and after Lebanon. It will embolden our enemies, and give them a base from which to attack us.
And, like before the war, Iraq will once again put its WMD factories on-line.
If they do that, and we find out about it... how can we ever go back to put them out of business again, after we blew it the first time?
How can we ever prosecute another war, no matter how in-your-face the evidence of threats may be?
Exactly. With Paul in the debates--these 'so called' debates are a joke, and they demean the Party. Thompson was smart to stay away from these 'circus acts', and he should continue to stay away until clowns like Paul are not invited. With Paul in there, it's doing nothing more than embarrassing the Republican Party, and as you said, removing what little dignity the debates have.
After all, Paul has as much chance as I do to get nominated. I stand corrected, I probably have a BETTER chance...lol
The job of stopping radical islam will never be finished if we cover our heads in the sand. Iraq was a big problem, Afghanistan was a big problem, Iran IS a Bigger problem. The interference by Iran by importing terrorism and intimidation is a bigger problem than Sunni, Shia, Kurd differences put together. leaving will only open the door so Iran can help themselves. Paul ought to recognize the problems with illegal immigration and see a parallel, but he is immersed in self value that few others see.
If we pull out we will not comprehend what dying will be.
If we can’t stand up for freedom and democratic society in a country that has the desire and just needs the means, we have no business promoting our own democracy. There is a lot of value involved and retreating cheapens the value of defending the right thing.
Precisely.
Furthermore, it was not a debate. It was a media question/answer session with candidates.
Don’t worry, HillDawg will not win this time! :]

/sarc off <— do i really need this? LOL
I am not technically lame, but I am not going to waste my time texting a TV poll.
I did not vote the American Idol either...
I have no way of proving that this poll was manipulated. I can tell you what my gutt feeling is. When the primaries come along, it’s going to become rather appearant what has taken place.
IMO, McCain won the debate. I won’t be voting for him, but he came off the most presidential, and the other candidates seemed to heap praise on him. That made him look superior in stature.
I didn’t watch the whole thing, so I’m not really the guy who should be picking these things, but others seem to have noted the same thing.
I will tell you I thought Huckabee’s response to Paul was powerful. I know others didn’t like it one bit.
Take care.
I’m disappointed that FNC would pull such a unscientific stunt.
And that they already saw what a disaster it was during the last text message poll that Fox had! Why in the hell would they do it AGAIN?? WHY?
They are never wrong.
