TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A law enforcement official says 11 public officials from across New Jersey, including a mayor and two state lawmakers, have been arrested in a federal corruption investigation.
The official says the arrests are related to insurance contracts for local governments.
The official says two Democratic state lawmakers, the mayor of Passaic (puh-SAY'-ihk) and the chief of staff to Newark's City Council president are among those arrested.

“I’m a NJ voter. I didn’t vote for that. Don’t be a dick.”
Don’t be so egotistical as to think that you’re “the people” of New Jersey.
“The people” of New Jersey demand liberalism in their government as they have for decades. And, they get exactly what they demand — it’s pretty clear, whether you like it or not. I moved from New Jersey because I wouldn’t live under the incompetent tyranny.

I’ve got you beat with CA, but in terms of sheer useful idiocy, MD beats Pennsyachusettes by a nose (but we’re coming on strong!)

LOL but it rings so true.

Sidebar Mod, I have to complain! This would only be Breaking News if it read:
Law enforcement: Only 11 public officials across New Jersey arrested in federal corruption probe
; )
To: michigander
Among those charged were Passaic Mayor Sammy Rivera and State Assemblyman and Orange Mayor Mims Hackett, investigators said.
Does this occur in other states or only in New Jersey? Everyone of our politicians seems to hold multiple offices.

...another weird aspect of New Jersey. I would have trouble handling 2-3 full time jobs, in addition to finding the time and energy required to be a career criminal, like many NJ pols.
Our former Township Manager (currently in jail) was also Mayor of another NJ municipality. So this all seems to be fairly routine.
We'd move South except for the hurricanes, rattlesnakes, fire ants and alligators.

They could only find eleven? Pretty weak probe.

Not true. The fact that somebody got arrested for such a praiseworthy act as corruption is big news. We usually reward that kind of behavior in NJ. And for a democrat to get arrested is unheard of. I hope we can afford the tax increase to pay restitution for this foul-up.

Why it's more than terrible, it's outrageous, it's the most.........oh wait, nevermind, I see it happened in NJ.
Corruption isn't news in Joisey, just business as usual in a Democrat paradise.

We would love to live in a Red State. But we think bringing up our children around their family is much more important. Our family has been here for 2 generations and everyone is very close. If we move, our kids lose that bond.

That’s exactly our situation. Although we have talked about it and I think that both sets of parents would move to North or South Carolina if went.
