Hunter is the perfect Vice Presidential candidate, and I think you know it.
Vice President is the prep for the big stage, and I think at this point in his career, that’s what Hunter needs. It will help him nationally in astronomical ways.
This point in his 'career'? Do you mean his 26 year congressional career as opposed to Freds 6 year on the job experience? Or do you want Hunter to take acting lessons ? Don't you see how silly that talking point is?
Yea, you FRedbots keep trying to sell that....but I’m not buying into a guy who wants to give “aspirations of citizenship” AMNESTY to illegals as a top ticket candidate.
Duncan Hunter doesn’t need any prep. He is ready now, in fact, he is the most qualified man running to be commander in chief. Duncan Hunter is the Reagan candidate. Fred Thompson is the Bob Dole, Howard Baker, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc. Take your pick.
I know you mean well and you are only trying to save us from making a mistake. We Hunter supporters are very confident and comfortable with our decision.
BTW;If instant name recognition is what it takes, Sen. Larry Craig would be a shoo-in.
>Vice President is the prep for the big stage<
Well, Duncan Hunter has had 26 years of solid preparation for the job. Henry Hyde, a great statesman now retired from Congress, endorsed Rep. Hunter early on. They had worked together for many years.
It has been said that if anyone wanted something done in Congress to give it to Duncan Hunter. He has a magnificent record of accomplishment, and is also well versed in military and foreign relations affairs.
Fred has had 8 years in the Senate. He never did accomplish anything outstanding, except maybe for McCain-Feingold. He was the one who pushed that through, to the severe detriment of the Republican Party.
Incidentally, I watched FDT’s acceptance speech, and it was well done! Of course he’s had around six months to write it. It was well staged, in comfortable surroundins, too, I’ll give him that. He didn’t mention his many years as a lobbyist when outlining his resume though. It must have slipped his mind.
YAWN.
I don’t know anything about Fred Thompson other than he was a senator for a few years. (what state if he from?), and I have never watched any tv shows he is on. I know very little about him. Apparently, as you stated, he is “folksy”?. That’s not good enough.
Hunter has many years experience in government. And he has insider knowledge of the kind that we need right now. Being on the Armed Service Committee for many years puts him in a position that makes him uniquely qualified for the job to lead us against the battle of our time. This is not a time for fluff. From what little I see of Thompson, I can only see fluff. Hunter is solid. He is forthright, he is upfront and honest. He has served his country in war and in peace. He has many many accomplishments as a congressman. Thompson is a diva waiting to make his entrance. We don’t need a diva - we need a serious man for a serious job.
You speak of Cheney. One question: Do you think Cheney could be elected President, if he chose to run.
I’m not to sure I would even vote for him. Bush’s “accomplishments” leave a lot to be desired. I fear the most notable thing in his legacy, will be that he allowed the U.S. to become the Ununited States of Mexico. Also, I am not too sure that Fred will be any better on this issue, regardless of what he says....now.
I actually don't disagree with you. I'd love to see Hunter on top, as I think he is the only candidate that understands the military/illegal immigrant aspects of keeping our country safe. Problem is name recognition. He's gotten more lately but not as much as the "Kennedy wing of the party"!
