NESSUN DORMA

Whenever LP sang this song in his prime it was 100% guarantee to STOP the show & it always did! What emotional power this man had in his voice. He WILL be missed!

I have and am eagerly following his meteoric rise!

God bless Pavarotti....he had a beautiful voice !!

But God bless Paul Potts....and may he find his place in this world.
He seems genuine and has little if any ego.

I think he will only get better and better!!!!

Sad news. Hope he pulls through.

He won't. But what a life.

My favorite Pavarotti song is right here.

His performance here even makes the insufferable self-righteous Bono seem tolerable.

Thank you for posting the link. I am not an opera aficionado but I believe this aria sung by the great Pavarotti is the most beautiful piece of music written by man and gifted by God. Bravo.

Well, we'll just have to work on that :).

I'm so glad this thread became something of a celebration of this man's magical voice.

How very sad! Although I prefer a Heldentenor, it was Luciano Pavarotti’s Arias that was the first CD I ever bought. That was in May 1983 at Liberty Music in Ann Arbor. I bought the CD player four months later over the Labor Day weekend. A Magnavox! I think it cost me $700. LOL! I felt so cutting edge!

I last played that CD for dinner before the final episode of The Sopranos. The dinner, the wine, and the music — all perfect. We should have ended the evening without turning on the TV.

I last saw him at the Rosemount (I think that’s what it’s called — outside of Chicago). He was billed with Sutherland, but SHE cancelled because of some jet lag related excuse. Oh, the irony!

What a loss!

His body passes on but the body of his work lives on, an inspiration to young singers everywhere. The ugliest sound you’ll ever hear is the angry human voice, the most beautiful sound you’ll ever hear is Luciano singing the music of eternity.

Sad news indeed.

His rendition of "Non Ti Scordar Di Me" still gives me goosebumps.

... at least not that particular performance. Bono ruins it

During a tribute to Sinatra during one of those Grammy moments they cut Franks speech short to go to a commercial. When they came back from the break and introduced Billy Joel, Billy started the song and took an extra long pause during his song, and stated something in the line of “ I wonder how much this is costing the network”. They screwed Sinatra, and that was wrong....Billy told them so.

Classy move by Joel, even if the network probably didn’t think so.

I love Miss Sarajevo. I can’t listen to it in public w/my mp3 player, tho, cause I cry like a baby because his voice is so beautiful. It’s almost unbearable.

Bless you, Pavarotti.

James Brown and Pavarotti singing ‘This is a Man’s World.’ Good googa mooga! Has to be seen to be believed!
